Help removing a "thump"
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/Boomcoach_ThumpRemovalHelp.mp3 At the 5 second mark there is a distinct "thump". I have this issue several times in another recording and I have not figured out a way to remove them, so any help would be appreciated. I am using Audacity 3.2.4. No add-ins ...

Re: How to present a file for advice
You're already in the right forum. ;-) You can ask your questions here, with a file that indicates the problem. Upload the file to the "tests" folder, it gets cleared out regularly, but I assume you won't need the file again in a year or so. ;-) Perfect. I thought that the Tests folder mi...

How to present a file for advice
I have an issue with a background "bump" sort of noise that I would like to get advice on how to clean. I re-recorded the passage in the solo I am working on, but have found it several times in a short story. I think I have figured out what is causing it, but would prefer to clean it from ...

Re: ~[Solo] A Spoiler of Men by Richard Marsh-ans
I don't throw competitively any more, but I still get out and throw for fun in the summer. I had my right shoulder replaced in 2018 which has made it easier.

Re: ~[Solo] A Spoiler of Men by Richard Marsh
Yep. I knew that if I needed to track down a password it would need to wait until this evening, but luckily Chrome has remembered it for me, so I was able to cut and past the titles. Now it is time to start talking to myself and then listening to myself. My friends would say it is the perfect hobby ...

Re: [Solo] A Spoiler of Men by Richard Marsh
I have used it before, but will need to see if I still have a password and permissions, but it will be this evening before I can test that. Looking forward to doing some more recordings. I have done a couple short stories to get my rhythm back. I really enjoy Richard Marsh and I think this story is ...

Re: Reading Long Passages Tips
Previous to my current setup, I used a Zoom recorder. When I did that I would just carry on and edit out any delays for drinks. I also used to rap the table when I made a mistake, to make it easy to spot when editing the file later.

Re: Reading Long Passages Tips
Depending on how my throat and mouth handle it, I can do up to 45 minutes recording at a go, but it is not continuous. I usually have a sugar-free sports drink like PowerAde Zero or Gatorade Zero on hand (water seems to dry out my mouth.) I record until I screw up, or feel I need to take a break, th...

Re: Trying to create a Backup System for my Projects
I also use a NAS, which is further backup up to Elephant Drive.
Before I had the NAS, I had a large drive connected with a USB toaster that I used for bulk storage. It was backup up online using Carbonite.

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread
I will try that. As I was driving to work this morning, I thought of something that may have caused it. When I completed my recording and had saved the project, I moved the project file to my NAS so I can edit it on a different PC. There were three files I tried to copy, all looking like they were f...
