Re: Calling all macro users

Did you try adjusting the double click time in Windows? Requiring the double click time to be fast should reduce the number of times it happens accidentally.

[FIXED] Rhyme? And Reason? (Version 2)

On https://librivox.org/rhyme-and-reason-version-2-by-lewis-carroll/, the timings given for tracks 12 and 13 are the wrong way round. Track 12 should be 00:05:11, and track 13 should be 00:36:24.

Re: Open Projects

I followed some links and found: https://librivox.org/search?primary_key=39&search_category=genre&search_page=2&search_form=get_results On it under Genre I found a whole listing of children's works. I found a group I liked. Children's Fiction > Myths, Legends & Fairy Tales, Complete...

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Also, the Audacity microphone slider (at top right of your image) should be fully over to the right. Probably that won't make enough difference on its own, but it should help a bit.

Re: Does anyone have access to the British Newspaper Archives?

If anyone can help, these are the articles I'm searching for "The Presence by the Fire" (Penny Illustrated Paper, 14 August 1897) "The Thing in No. 7" (Pall Mall Gazette, 25 October 1894) "The Thumbmark" (Pall Mall Gazette, 28 June 1894) "Mr Marshall's Doppelgange...

Re: [GRP] Coffee Break Collection #34 -- VACATIONS by Various Authors - lt

Your choice, of course, but I thought ending with oxen and driver "crushed between the wheels" was horribly dark. The final philosophical paragraph gives more structure and purpose to the scene, and fits the "vacation" theme wherein we go and learn something important we didn't ...

Re: [GRP] Coffee Break Collection #34 -- VACATIONS by Various Authors - lt

Holiday In Scandanavia is PL OK. Pictures from Italy is also PL OK, but who knew Carrara marble was so dear? I wish you would consider continuing your piece a few paragraphs further down, which it seems to me gives a much fuller ending. My reason for stopping where I did is that the rather bleak en...

Re: [GRP] Coffee Break Collection #34 -- VACATIONS by Various Authors - lt

Here are another couple of pieces for you. Both are excerpts from longer works, but should do quite well as stand-alone tracks. Excerpt from A Holiday in Scandinavi a by Edwin Lester Arnold (1857–1935) (as he's normally known according to Wikipedia) https://archive.org/details/asummerholidayi01arnog...

If anyone wants some ideas for this collection, have a look at this blog post (now archived, but still available courtesy of the Wayback Machine). Many of these are longer books, but some may well have suitable stand-alone sections or chapters that could be used here. https://web.archive.org/web/202...

Re: Interviewing a volunteer in a leadership position in LibriVox

Hi, philchenevert! Thanks for your response. This is what I found on making donations to LibriVox: "Note that all donations to LibriVox must be made through our official home, the Internet Archive, which is a US 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization (Tax-ID number: 94- 3242767).” So, my next ques...

We don't seem to have had this one for a few years, so it's time to do it again.

Oh dear, sorry about that. Should be OK now.
