Re: [FORTNIGHTLY POETRY] The Hillside Thaw by Robert Frost -

No problem, Ruth. :) I'm used to being excluded from lots of things on the internet (usually youtube clips which the rest of the world can watch with no problems at all). :)

Re: [FORTNIGHTLY POETRY] The Hillside Thaw by Robert Frost -

It's truly complicated, isn't it?

From my understanding I'm excluded cause Germany has some treaty with the USA dating from 1892!!!

Oh well. :)

Re: ~[Multilingual]Multilingual Short Works Collection 008 -

Vielen Dank, Joseph. :) It will enhance your recordings and make your voice sound more natural. Yes, I'm sure a better mic would help, but I'm afraid this *is* how I sound. Sorry aber - Ich vermeide es, auf Deutsch zu schreiben, denn mein geschriebenes Deutsch ist grausam. Ganz und gar nicht. :) Abe...

Re: Problem with a catalogued recording [Noise in Little Men

Well, leaving the ID3 tags aside - I just checked a few other files (64kbps) and their noise levels are fine. So there is some odd problem with this one file.

Re: Problem with a catalogued recording [Noise in Little Men

Thank you. I'm baffled that there's such a big difference in noise level between the two versions. I always download the 64kbps one, and it's usually perfectly fine. :)

Re: Problem with a catalogued recording

I've downloaded the 124 version now, but the background noise is just as disturbing as in the 64kbps version, even if checker says it's only 24.2 db

I hear the noise distinctly and loudly, on both my PC and on my mp3 player.

Problem with a catalogued recording [Noise in Little Men]

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask. I downloaded Little Men (version 2) today. Now, Chapter 2 has a horrible background noise. I checked it, and the checker 8which may not have existed yet when this was recorded) tells me the following: Validation: The bit rate should be 128 kbps. Help The sa...

Re: ~[Multilingual]Multilingual Short Works Collection 008 -

So you two understand Polish. There are 2 active Polish readers at LibriVox. Err - no, that's why I said (Well, as far as I can tell, anyway). I followed the text via the given link, so I was able to tell that no words were omitted. However, I can't say anything about the pronunciation, and I don't...

Re: ~[Multilingual]Multilingual Short Works Collection 008 -

Thanks for the PL smike.Much appreciated. - ditto!. :) I have a headset, so the distance of the mic to my mouth is limited. I have it as far away as possible, which usually results in too low a volume, so I need to amplify. However, the edits (breathing) I have to make if the mic is closer are too ...

If you rummage, you will find a number of discussions. Here's just one, which may help? https://forum.librivox.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=43204 Carol Thank you, I'll check that out. :) Here's a poem in Low German: URL for the mp3 file from the Uploader [/color] - http://upload.librivox.org/share/...

Re: ~[Multilingual]Multilingual Short Works Collection 008 -

Who's doing PL? Anybody specific? If not, I've listened to 11 - Alte Soken. Wonderul recording (and love the story). PL OK. Just a question about how to treat footnotes in general? There are lots in this piece, but they're all mere German translations of the Yiddish words and are left out in the rea...
