Re: Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great - remaing work

I saw the musicians one a few days ago and considered it, but I think the whole book is more than I'm looking for. But here it is again- fate makes clear her call!! If anybody felt to start it up, I'd read a section or two.

Re: Podcast idea: group projects vs solo recordings

Ha! I forgot that my first initial sounds like a first name. Maybe I should start using the full Jared after all. Anyway, here's a second attempt, which I believe will be satisfactory.

Re: All Magic Windows are coming up blank

Very nice! Quite a few handy tips in there that I shall keep in mind. And that was indeed quite a musical menagerie. Go Ruth and go team!

Re: One last background hum I can't find

By gum, you're right! That's... weird. All I did for that test was set up the mic on the floor by my laptop. I don't think I've had any other recordings sound nearly that clean before editing. My only guess is that I set the mic's 10dB cutter switched on... I guess I'll have to play around some more...

One last background hum I can't find

I've unplugged the laptop cord. I've put an icepack under the laptop to keep the fan from freaking out. I've turned off the A/C. I got a collapsible box and some Auralex around my microphone. All this means my sound is a hundred times better than it used to be, but I've still got a hum, and I can't ...
