We actually have several blind readers. And although the videos are mostly visual, there is of course audio as well. It's true that the visually impaired will likely not benefit from the videos.

Why not send your supervisor to read this thread. They will realize how difficult it is to sign anything. When they read here, they will see the consensus of how long it takes to make an hour recording. For me, I'm at about 3 hours work for one hour of finished recording. Your catalog page is the on...

The Backwoods of Canada is a much more upbeat account of the immigration of one woman from England to Canada then Traill's sister, Susanna Moodie. For a little historical fiction, try The Fur Country by Jules Verne. It is set in the Frozen Canadian north. It's a good adventure story with a little my...

Re: Tolkien Fans Unite

I'm glad I came to check out your intro, because I will now be checking out the author MacDonald our compatriot mentioned above. I really enjoyed MacDonald's children's stories. Very similar to Tolkien and Lewis. (They got it from him lol) Have a listen to The Princess and the Goblin, The Princess ...

Nice site guys! One comment that initially struck me is the font is difficult to read. (And my eyesight is OK) I prefer chunkier text. I have been helping mom who really can't read anymore but when she could, CONTRAST was/is very important. Since LV is very sensitive to those with limited sight, I t...

Ava can I suggest something to do with the war of 1812? Since this is the 100th yr anniversary of our war with the US. I was thinking of making it the spotlight item for June. :) http://librivox.org/chronicles-of-canada-volume-14-the-war-with-the-united-states-a-chronicle-of-1812/ On June 1, 1812, P...

Re: Hello!

If you like Tolkien, you may like George MacDonald. Both Tolkien and C. S. Lewis looked up to MacDonald as a Mentor.

Enjoy!

Re: Microphone has disables all my sound. HELP!!

In audacity to the left hand side are 2 sliders (Under the "Mute" button). Make sure these are both centered. If the + - is all the way to the minus, you will not hear anything. Also make sure it isn't "Muted".
