Re: No feedback for my audio test?
Welcome to the forum, SabSai! I like to use the Quick Links (top left of the screen) to check 'Your posts', which is a good way to show up new replies. (I get enough emails already without the forum going at it too  ) Or, the link to your post and feedback are here: https://forum.librivox.org/v...

Re: Creating varying voices.
Ah, we have some community podcasts that might help too! Full list here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Librivox_Community_Podcast ... I'd suggest trying 96 & 102 for starters. (Note to self, should really put little summaries in for all those blank ones sometime. Rainy day job.)

Re: Creating varying voices.
Sometimes I do celebrity imitations ... I'm so very bad at them that they sound quite original, and it makes it a little easier to be consistent over time. I've used pitch shift to tweak my own voice in doing rereads/pick-ups, but never for a full character. I'm not sure (at least for my voice...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
I don't believe that is implemented as it stands, based on previous comments in the thread. We're not currently actively working on the API, though it's something we do want to look at in the future and requests here will help with the long-term priorities.

Re: Thoughts about Audacity...
I've been fascinated by looking at other people's voices in my editing software, too. I'm fairly sure I could pick mine out of a line-up. :D And it's an interesting way to explore recordings I find particularly 'good' (LibriVox and other sources) -- I enjoy listening to the story straight through, a...

Re: Tablet Recommendation Request
Does it have the same problem with Hathi Trust -- they have a good selection of older books overlapping with IA?

Re: Tablet Recommendation Request
That's great that your creaky old iPad is still working! Good workaround while you figure out something permanent. Might another online storage system like Dropbox work like Google Drive for you? Hmm, I've been through 3 tablets in 7 years, each one bought because the last one died, so their lifespa...

Re: New Releases RSS
It's the furthest right icon on the home page (the three curved bars, which is the RSS logo.) In terms of subscribing ... mostly people use an RSS reader, which pulls in the code and formats it for you. I assumed you had something like that installed because it stopped when your system crashed, wher...

Re: Please permit me to introduce myself
Welcome to the forum, Jeremy! I've taken the liberty of putting your post into its own topic ... that's easier for people to reply to individually, rather than sharing a topic with another newcomer. :D I'd dearly love some more Northern accents around the place ... there's plenty of us Southerners (...

Re: Tablet Recommendation Request
Oh your poor ipad. So sad. :( I use an Android Huawei M5 (I think that's the model, it's not next to me right now to check.) 10" screen, because I like a big font size and to see a whole page at a time if I'm reading from PDF. I previously used a Lenovo Yoga Tab and can't remember the one befor...

There's a list of feeds here: https://librivox.org/pages/librivox-feeds/ (thanks for mentioning it, too ... some newer folks might not have thought of looking for something like this.)

Re: Quality of Narration -- what do YOU think?
Oh my goodness, I am a serious advocate of breathing! Yes, if a particular breath is distractingly heavy I might edit it down -- perhaps 1-2 breaths every 10 mins are a bit gulpy for me. I've found that listening to recordings without breath sounds sometimes make me hold my own breath, or feel a lit...
