I agree with the ‘should ‘ bit ;
I was in two minds about it myself but the pause did hamper the flow.
Thanks anyway... one always learns and nothing from a colleague in the form of advice is gibberish.

In the intro there is a longish pause befor ‘book’
1.6 ‘Suzy said she .... be glad ‘
Change to ‘Suzy said she should be glad’
