Re: [ADVENTURE] Sir Gibbie by George MacDonald-maryann

Run time for Ch. 33 is 29:12. Please let me know if you hear anything odd in the background. Overall, I like the sound of this mic, but every now and then while editing, I heard some weird noise behind my voice that I couldn't identify, so I re-recorded some bits here and there. https://librivox.org...

Re: What is a good mic that won't die or cost a million doll

Thank you for those links. That's a very interesting project! While sound quality is of course important, and very poor quality is a deal-breaker, what I'm really wanting to compare is cost and longevity. Would you be able to tell me about how much you spent on your mics, and where you originally go...

Re: [ADVENTURE] Sir Gibbie by George MacDonald-maryann

Ok, I've given up on Logitech, because they told me to allow 24-48 hours, and it has now been something like 69 hours and I still haven't heard back... Whatever, Logitech. So anyway, I took it back to where I got it, and traded up. What do you think? https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/mightyfelix_te...

What is a good mic that won't die or cost a million dollars?

I'm still fairly new here, having joined LibriVox this past August. When I joined, I went out and bought an Insignia USB desktop mic. It picked up lots of electronic noise and buzzing. I never attempted to use it for a real recording, but went out and traded it in for a Logitech H390 headset mic. It...

Re: Server breakdown - how to fix it [we need your help!]

I've been working on Sir Gibbie by George MacDonald, and we've got almost everything back to where it was before. However, just before the crash, we had a newbie claim a chapter, and no one can remember what their user name was. So we don't know if they've even re-registered or what. Is there a way ...

The Fair Maid of the Exchange

I read about this play while doing research for another piece I wanted to record. It is called The Fair Maid of the Exchange and was first published in 1607. I have not read the whole play yet, so don't know the story, except for what I read in a review I stumbled across, but it sounds fun! It seems...

Re: [ADVENTURE] Sir Gibbie by George MacDonald-maryann

Still have some funky stuff going on with my mic. I haven't been able to work on resolving it because I've been gone. I'm going to try one more time to get tech support from the manufacturer, and then I will probably take it back and trade it in for a new one. I think it's the headset itself and not...

Hurray! So exciting to get a project finished. It's nice that the server crash didn't really affect this one, too.

I did look, but I think that was it. I will upload all, but not until next Sunday (week from tomorrow), because I am out of town.

Re: [ADVENTURE] Sir Gibbie by George MacDonald-maryann

Bummer, but we will rebuild! As I said, I have all my chapters, still. I'm out of town for the next week, so will probably upload all of them Sunday the 23rd. I believe that the chapters I had claimed but not recorded were 33-35.
