I didn't realise you'd read one of hers too, BT, till I was checking the catalogue links when I was finishing this up. I notice from Wikipedia she has quite a few more books old enough to be LibriVoxable - though only two more at Gutenberg at the moment.

Hi, Brie - well done: you're good to go! It wouldn't do any harm to raise your mic input level a bit if you can, or amplify a little after recording, as your test is a bit on the quiet side, but everything else is great . Lovely and clear, and a very fluent reading. jenny , have more confide...

Thanks, dii! I must have been losing concentration by that point in the editing - glad you didn't :D.
Uploading new version now, but dashing out the door - new length 48:59, ready in 15 mins.

New version of 10 on its way up now (couple of mins before the upload is ready).
Can't explain that other than as a random Audacity blip - at least no audio was lost, just silence inserted. Very strange. Thanks for catching it.

Re: Please help a Newbie

It might depend what software or plug-ins you've got running, Rematog, whether you can listen in your browser by just left-clicking the 'Listen' link or not. I don't use Internet Explorer, so I'm not sure if it should always have something 'native' and built-in to do that. You might need to install ...

Re: [SOLO] Cottage Economy by William Cobbett - rd

10 is up too :D. The diagrams that are referred to are here if you want them: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/32863/32863-h/images/i_147.jpg , but actually I'd be quite interested in how it is to listen to without having seen the figures. I think you can get the idea of the structure of the ice house...

Re: Hello from Baton Rouge

Hi, Rematog, and welcome. Hopefully there's plenty of browsing and reading in the forums and the wiki (linked at the top of the page) to keep you occupied and get you inspired until your recorder arrives, so you'll be all genned up and ready to read when it does!
