Hi Mark. I HATE the sound of my own voice but thankfully there are people who enjoy me reading to them, so I continue. :)

Re: [GARDENING/NF]-Wood and Garden by Gertrude Jekyll - alg

Hi Amy. I haven't forgotten about my chapter. Life has been super busy with my new job and I love it. It is 10°C here this morning and got up to 22°C yesterday afternoon. The garden is drying out and I'm contemplating planting 'snow peas'. They can tolerate a little frost. OH I AM SO TEMPTED!! lol T...

Re: [HIST/ADV] INCA LANDS by Hiram Bingham - arb

My job has been very busy. If anyone else would like to proof the remaining chapters, I wouldn't mind. It may be some time before I can get to them.

Thanks for understanding everyone. I've really enjoyed listening to everyone.

Re: MJ from Portland, Oregon

Hey don't worry too much. We were all pretty new to this too. Last time I had recorded my voice was on a tape recorder lol. I think that's the case for about 90% of the volunteers. We have great volunteers here who love to help. They only way to improve is to just do it. For consolation, check out t...

Re: Hello from America

Welcome! There is no one here who can verify your volunteer hours. Your finished recording would be the only thing you have to prove your time. It's safe to say that it takes at least twice as long to create the final mp3 than the actual finished recording. The ratio is probably close to 3 or 4 time...

Re: More Linguistic Confusion

And as for funny names - my mother actually knew a woman named Hazel Nutt. But she was a Nutt by marriage, so you can't fault her parents. My friend's sister is named "Susan" She married a man with the last name Susin". Imagine the confusion when asked her name.... First name? Susan....

Re: Hello from Christenson Village in Gibsons BC

Welcome Bruce. It seems like a nice idea. One thing I need to point out, is that for the Individuals to be properly credited for their work, they NEED to have their own account. I think it is important for people to be credited. You can go ahead and create accounts for those willing to volunteer. Th...

Re: How about buying olympus vn 5200 pc ?

I use the Zoom H2 but at just over $200 CAD, it may be out of your price range. Maybe try looking on Ebay for a used one. http://www.samsontech.com/zoom/products/handheld-audio-recorders/h2/ Others here have used the Zoom H1 which is the H2's little sister. Both have excellent audio quality and a Ni...
