Welcome to LibriVox, and welcome to this project! Could you please post the link again without the period at the end? Then I'll be able to download it. (I might not be able to listen to it until the new year, though, so if someone else wants to listen, they certainly may.) Thanks! Period moved. :) ...

Hey, Mark, I hope you have better scans on this one than you did with Manybooks' version of Piper's Cosmic Computer. Give me a bit to get your window set up, and we'll be ready to roll.

EDIT: OK, Window is set up and you are all set!

My apologies, but as I am on vacation at the moment, and don't really have time to listen as carefully as I should, I am going to have to withdraw as DPL and open this up for other proofers to listen to. Well done on the chapters that I've listened to, and I look forward to listening to this one for...

Hi, Ron, and welcome to Librivox! A couple of additional things I'll need from you before I can add this to the Window. First, I'm guessing by the filename of your upload that this is "A Tale of the Ragged Mountains" by Poe (E. A. Poe?). If it's not, please let me know. I'll also need to k...

I just figured it out! I am a dumbhead! I didnt post the stupid link! GRRRRRRRR! I always do that! So sorry! Do I need re-do that? You shouldn't need to. Tricia pointed out above that the link in the Window was incorrect, but that she downloaded the file from the directory, and it is the corrected ...

I cataloged this one, and it was done during the time we were having so many problems uploading to Archive. I still have backup copies of the entire validator directory (including the xml files), if that would help.

There are two versions of section 2 on the uploader. The most recent one was uploaded 12/20/2008 at 5:16:44 pm Pacific time.

EDIT: Go ahead and change to the correct link, Tricia.
RE-EDIT: I went ahead and fixed it.

Gesine asked for some assistance in cataloging this project, and while I was checking the validator for files that might be too soft, I found that section 6 was (among others). When I downloaded it to amplify it, I discovered that is missing the entire intro and disclaimer. Does anyone still have a ...

16 seconds. Starts out ...nd worse. (pause) The King rises. (pause) and ends. It looks like a bit from the middle of the file, not the whole file. File sizes match to the byte on my computer and on the uploader, so I think ty must have been a bad upload.

And there are actually FOUR completed versions of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables , with version 5 in progress. We call it "The Choice of Voice". Different readers may have different insights into a work, and they give it their own interpretation. You may listen to one version ...

I noticed the popping sound in section 09 so in section 10, I tried to speak over the microphone differently, and I think it has less explosives. I used a different kind of microphone in section 08 which is why that one didn't have that problem. Do you think I should re-read section 09, or leave as...

it works off a Verizon air card, is supposed to be connecting to National Access Broadband, but it goes about as slow as dial-up. I can't comment on the "as slow as dial-up", but Aircards are definitely slower than Wi-Fi (802.11 wireless ethernet), and wired ethernet. And they pull more p...

One other thing I noticed in your test is that the waveform looks like it's offset from the zero line, althogh that may just be a trick of the shape of the noise waveform. If your waveform of the "no-noise" recording is offset, you may want to try using the Normalize effect with only the &...

Another trick is that when you've highlighted the waveform if you hit the "z" key (or Edit=>Find Zero Crossings), it will move the selection on both ends to where the waveform crosses the zero line, thus eliminating pops. Not as critical with amplification/de-amplification, but it can defi...
