Re: OPEN [poetry] The Odes by Horace -ck

@Alexandra: Have you re-recorded the entire Ode 23 again ? It seemed a bit different than the first time. Well, anyway, I listened to it again, and the error is corrected. So PL ok now. ********** @Phil: Considering my signature, I had to do this section. :) LOL I agree with you. PL ok as well. than...

carteki wrote:Go ahead and cut them out. It reads easier that way. If you want to keep what you've recorded then paste the footnotes into a separate file and save that. Then it's not lost.
ok then I'll do that :)

Re: ~[GROUP]Strange Stories from A Chinese Studio, Vol 1-mar

Trying to think what to do... I like the info in the footnotes, but that's me. I dont think it'll work if they are all saved to the end of the text so I think just ignoring them all together is best. I like the info in footnotes as well, but that is when reading a book. I'm not sure how I find them...

Re: ~[GROUP]Strange Stories from A Chinese Studio, Vol 1-mar

I just didn't get around to saying that unless you feel that the footnotes are essential please leave them out. This is meant to be a story book and I the footnotes, while interesting, detract from the story as a whole. You know, thinking about it, I think the footnote indeed disturb the flow of th...

Re: ~[GROUP]Strange Stories from A Chinese Studio, Vol 1-mar

Here is my second contribution: Section 4. The Painted Wall. Recording time: 6:50 min. https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/strangestoriesvol1_04_pu_128kb.mp3 I see you have marked my first recording as PL ok, so I guess the way I did the footnotes was ok. I did it the same way this time. I c...

Re: OPEN [poetry] The Odes by Horace -ck

Hi Alexandra, I just had a listen to your recording and it was excellently read. I like your intonation a lot. Unfortunately almost near the end you made a misquote: at 0:53: you say: “learn to love your dam”, but correct would be “learn to leave your dam”, which is actually quite the contrar...

Re: ~[poetry] Main Street and Other Poems by Joyce Kilmer -c

thank you sonia! no long disclaimer needed - i only ask for the long disclaimer to be read for teh first section when the volume starts with a foreword or biographic sketch or something, not when we start with a poem. but each book coordinator might do this differently, so thanks for asking :) yes ...

Re: ~[poetry] Main Street and Other Poems by Joyce Kilmer -c

Ah I see a new poetry volume has opened up. I didn't even know this author yet. I think a great bonus of Librivox is this: that I get to know great works that maybe otherwise I would never have read. Can I start with Section 1, Main Street, please ? Do I need to read a special longer disclaimer ther...

Can I also claim Section 12: Ginevra degli Amieri ? I just read this poem and it's a very beautiful story. Even though I'm a bit daunted by the length. But I try my best.
