Re: DRAMATIC READING: The Paying Guest by George Gissing - a

FYI, the Google doc links don't work for me. It makes me log in. I think you can "publish as web page" and use the link it gives when you do that - those seem to work best.

Re: [PARENTING] Gentle Measures by Jacob Abbott - tg

I'm having some trouble controlling silence timing at the end and beginning, I don't seem to have enough time. Could someone check this as well, please? I've had other cases where the times were right, but that my pc decided to consider wrong  . Thank you. Do you mean you have a hard time che...

Re: transcoding

Warning: my personality type is to see the obstacles first, then slowly come around to change. The first obstacle I see if we switched to FLAC is server space. The way things work here, we upload the sections to a working server while things are in process, then when the project is complete, t...

Re: transcoding

The problem is that people don't know what FLAC is. I know most of the media players don't recognize the format. So people that are computer illiterate will have NO clue how to use FLAC. (I have no idea how to use ogg vorbis, either!) And the way Archive is set up, it'll automatically make the 64 kb...

Re: Graphic audio book?

Welcome! Our purpose here is to record public domain audio books. Adding a lot of sound effects and so forth goes above and beyond our purpose, and it actually is against our policy to do this for various reasons. (Barry has posted the link I was going to supply. :)) However, you're totally free to ...

Re: A question about copyright issues

Sometimes I say "anything published 1922 or earlier is OK" and other times I say "anything published before 1923 is OK." Same thing, slightly different wording that can easily get mixed up. And then someone who is mixed up will post that if it's published in 1923 it's OK, and tha...

New Reader Needs Volume Help

He can't get his input volume any higher, but it's still too low. Here's the post (page up for his mic information): viewtopic.php?p=724907#p724907

Please post in that thread. Thanks!
