Noise removal - Audacity wiki tips + my own test
Hello, I am constantly amazed at the level of technical know-how on these forums. So I am sure you are aware of the Audacity wiki pages http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki . I've been reading some tips about how to cut the noise by switching off lights, moving the microphone away from mobile phones an...

Re: Another convoluted copyright question
The Stanford University page seems to say that this book is available for download as an ebook. I don't think I can actually download it myself to check. The only limitation mentioned for the book seems to be that there aren't any illustrations. Link here: http://www.worldcat.org/title/przygody-sin...

Another convoluted copyright question
So, there is a final follow up and recap. The text itself is in public domain, both in Poland and US. Written in 1913 and the author died in 1937. Stanford University library has the original 1913 edition, but they don't offer scanning services, even that I was willing to pay. The only complete digi...

Re: Bloopers - 2
Can't understand it but it sounds like you were having fun. lol Absolutely! I thought I'd do a rough reading first, as this is my first larger project (I've recorded so far 2 poems for multilingual collection). The funny thing was, once I get over the tongue twisting bit, I run into another blooper...

Oooo! Where do I pencil my name as PL for that? And what's next on your list? The Manuscript found in Saragossa? At least the name (Jan Potocki) won't give you any grief.Piotrek81 wrote:However, one of the books that I'm planning to read after "Wampir" was written by Jerzy Żuławski

"Christmas Carol" - solo or part of collection?
Hello again :-), while waiting for my copyright query to clarify I found this http://pl.wikisource.org/wiki/Wigilja_Bo%C5%BCego_Narodzenia - lovely Polish translation of Dickens' Christmas Carol. I've checked how other versions have been catalogued and appears that they are standalones, and recorded...

Re: Another convoluted copyright question
Or wait, have you seen this thread? It probably applies here as well: https://forum.librivox.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=37523 Hi, Tricia, Yes, I am aware of this thread. The 1936 scan has no mention of copyright. The only information is (roughly) Name of publishing house Name of graphic artist an...

Another convoluted copyright question
Hi, I am thinking of recording a Polish book, by Boleslaw Lesmian 1877-1937. The book was written and first published in 1913 (Przygody Sindbada Zeglarza - Adventures of Sindbad the Sailor). Sounds good. But... the earliest edition I can find to use is a scan from 1936, or text in wikisources based ...

Re: [MULTILINGUAL] Multilingual Poetry Collection 019 - lz
Hi, First I must apologise - I uploaded these files for dii at first - somehow get confused, so uploaded again for lz. Is there a way to quickly delete them from the wrong spot? I'd hate to clutter your server. Below are two poems in Polish language, both by Juliusz Słowacki (1809-1849) http://en.wi...

Re: Foreign Languages
Quote: I was just curious to know who is multi-lingual here on Librivox, and what we all speak. So, what is your native tongue, and what other languages do know? Do you know only a few words of one language; are you fluent in another? This quote is from the original message that started this thread....
