Great! I was looking at that title... I've got Whose Body already, of course!! And several others... I tried the Subscribe to iTunes link, but it downloaded only one chapter -- chapter-a-day is set up for this one -- so I'm downloading the zipped file instead. I'll experiment with settings tomorrow,...

In this case, when I send the iPod off, it'll be the only player she has -- no iTunes on computer. So I do want the tracks to play one after another as well as to remember where a book was left off. My trouble is, I haven't done much with iPods, and I need to make it as easy as pie so there's no fed...

OH, well, if you're y e l l i n g . . . that's a whole nother thing then, huh? so maybe not placing the mic across the room but ... you know how a singer does it as she increases the ... shall we say POWER ... of her singing, she'll lift her face up and pull the mic down and away a little. That migh...

Merged Audiobook files in iTunes
I may need help with this advice 8) ...about how to create a single audiobook file from our LV audiobooks. I've been gathering a bunch of books to send to a dear one in the hospital, and stumbled upon eMan's New Here? thread which happened to mention the fact that files can be merged and appear as ...

Hey Daniel, gosh, that's weird. Dunno why your Windows settings are popping back to 100%. Maybe...maybe it's the sequence of events. First plug in your mic (before opening Audacity) then adjust your windows settings -- being sure first that your mic is selected (all this obvious stuff, right? you've...

OK, I'm trying this out today. I'm collecting a big batch of audiobooks to load on an iPod and ship off to a dear one in the hospital. I've read several of the interlinked blog posts about merging [nicely done!] but can't find just one page with all the steps mapped out. So... my typically fractured...

hi ya alf21co, before you dive into a whole chapter anywhere, please please do a little test of your recording setup. Have you seen the Newbie Guide to Recording? http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/NewbieGuideToRecording To make a test, if you'd like some instructions, go to Test your recording setup!

I did noise clean the files before recording, but didn't want to do it too much in case it affected their overall sound quality. To my taste, a little low background rain and market noise would be nice, but I don't know if this is wanted or even possible. ... but it would help cover noisy files. Pe...

Oh, and we'll need an intro and closing line, too. I think it would be great to get Alex or kristin to record the opening and closing lines. I've PM'd Alex, suggesting we try to wrap up our missing recordings in the month ahead, but I believe he's traveling just now; and I've no doubt that kristin ...
