Re: Finding Solo Works
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Science_Fiction_Novels Lordy, that's a page in need of an update!  I'd note that although many of those titles will have been recorded already -- they've not been recorded in YOUR voice, and it's a pretty special aspect of LibriVox that we offer...

Re: Sparkler thread for LV projects
Is there anything you can do apart from reading/listening? As for reading and prooflistening, the only other thing I can think of is making project covers (like books covers). Good editors are always welcome too ... mostly people edit their own recordings, but there are also Plays and Dramatic Reco...

Re: How Should I Stop/Decrease Stuttering?
Possible useful comment: Jay, had you experimented with players that can speed up the recording? You could listen through more quickly that way, though it might be more bother than it's worth going between the player and Audacity for editing. Fairly unhelpful comment: I think the best one was when t...

Re: Suggestion: A Librivox certificate!
I would be very cautious about implementing this for several reasons: 1. It's worth reading a little on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. LibriVox is quite a challenging hobby to take up, and if people don't have strong intrinsic motivation (whatever that motive may be, there are several) then it'...

Re: Is LV a form of escapism?
Interesting that you're combining (in your first post, at least, if not necessarily in reality) obsession and escapism, Peter. They seem very different to me, though both worthy of thought.

Re: Finding Solo Works
You could also try checking out local library websites, as they might have events/blog posts which relate to olde local authors (remember, we need stories/books published in or before 1923 though) ... they might not be the biggest names, but will sound amazing in (something like) their own accent.

Re: inserting correct text
Welcome home, Sia ... both offline and to LibriVox. :9: Have you let the BC (person who's managing the project that you've signed up for) know that you're working on the sections? Just checking, but , if not, it's good to do that first. Hopefully the videos above, especially the More Editing o...

Well ... I finished all the initial recording over the holidays, but as for editing so anyway. Hope your New Year is going well so far, Sonia! Chapter 3 is ready for a quick check, and the super-bitty Chapter 4 is up now (but at least it's short. )
