Re: OPEN[PLAYS]One Act Play Collection 011-thw
Also, I guess it a bit later now that Availle has already recorded the Narrator, but finally wrote to my friend who work at the theater company which just stage "Charlie's Aunt" and ask him about the stage directions. He response: As for your Stage Direction question, I personally was stum...

Re: OPEN[PLAYS]One Act Play Collection 011-thw
OK, so here's the deal... I sat down to record my part for this. And my microphone wasn't working. I soon realized that the mike mixer was dead. So I ordered a new one ($91) from Amazon (same model as I had). It comes two days later. I tried it out --- as an experiment, I try the old mixer using the...

Re: OPEN[PLAY]Every Man In His Humour by Jonson - thw
Depending how fast I recover for Christmas partying, I hope to have Act 4 and/or 5 tomorrow or this weekend. OK, so I know I promised Act 4 & 5 today -- and I was just about to record them, when I discovered my mixer died (might be the reason for a odd recordings of the last ones). A new one is...

Re: Community Podcast: New Year, New PD Books!
but this year is especially exciting for us, because it's the first time in 20 years that any books will enter the public domain in the US!. 20 years? I thought nothing has entered PD in the US since 1979 (when everything from 1922 reached its 56-year copyright limit, and before everything 1923+ ha...

Re: OPEN[PLAYS]One Act Play Collection 011-thw
But if we assume that those refer to the location as in the chart Kitty posted, so that's "Center Downstage" (aka "Downstage center"), it still doesn't make any sense. How does one *enter* downstage center -- unless you are climbing out of the audience?

Re: OPEN[PLAYS]One Act Play Collection 011-thw
:help: I'm looking at the stage directions for " A Day well Spent ", and I'm confused... some of them are simple, and others say things like: They had me confused too. That's why I resisted claiming the narrator for myself. But, now that you've got the job, that leaves just Mr. Cutaway, w...

Re: OPEN[PLAYS]One Act Play Collection 011-thw
Here is the file, length 01:42 : https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/adaywellspent_bridget_oxenford.mp3 PL OK. I didn't detect a noticable French accent (except when you gave your name), and everything is clear. At 91.9 dB, it's right on the upper limit of acceptable volume levels. It's OK here, bu...

> at 7:01 : “there is no ascent by desert in these days” – the way you stress it on the first syllable, it means this “sandy area”, but actually it should be stressed on the second syllable to mean “merit” in this context (the noun of the verb “to deserve sth good”) Aha I've noticed that he often u...
