Here is chapter 1.

And the running time is 14:55. (I actually remembered! Writing it big helped.) :)

Re: ~[GROUP] Hunting Dogs by Oliver Hartley - mb

Time for Chapter 24: 6:56.

Sorry about forgetting that, again. I am going to print my "after recording" list in a much larger font!

Re: ~[GROUP] Hunting Dogs by Oliver Hartley - mb

Here is my new recording of chapter 24. And I tried the earphones -- it does help a lot. Thanks for all the great advice!

One snippet, with sound adjustments.

It is all of 19.5 seconds long. :)

Re: ~[GROUP] Hunting Dogs by Oliver Hartley - mb

Maria -

Thanks for the feedback. I am VERY new to recording myself, and will certainly adjust the volume.

Should I do chapter 24 again? I would like it to be right, and it isn't that long.

And I actually wrote down the time, too, but forgot to put it in. Argh!

Thanks Jeany! I have already done the 1-minute test; two, actually, the second making some adjustments based on feedback about the first test. I did not get any feedback about the second test, however -- hope it is OK. I hope to get a short poem uploaded today or tomorrow, so this chapter will actua...

Re: Hi! [+test]

Thanks for the feedback. I figured my first attempt would need some work. I adjusted the volume settings, checked that the gain sliders in Audacity were in the correct position, changed my position at the mic, and turned off everything possible around me. My plosives still sound too hard to me, thou...

Hi! [+test]

I am a storyteller and educator, and just getting into voice acting. A friend knew of this site and suggested I get experience here. When I heard it was using older books I jumped at the chance, because I love the idea of helping the classics reach new audiences. Here is the link for my test recordi...
