Re: Jarte, a freeware wordpad-based word-processing programm
It was yesterday that I discovered that it was possible for a Jarte user to activate a link directly from the programme. The only thing you should do is to save your favourite link into Jarte, and, when you've opened it next time, simply click on one of the characters contained in the link. After th...

Jarte, a freeware wordpad-based word-processing programme
Dear and highly-respected librivox members It is high time to try an excellent, freeware word processing software. It is like a mini-Microsoft word. It starts up as soon as you open it. It is also compatible with screen readers (Jaws and NVDA). It does the sorting as well as Ted Notepad itself. Ther...

Re: Google Talking English dictionary
Dear and highly respected Ruth, Let me tell you that you simply know what people want, and that you are always ready to give it to them if you are able to find what they want. I tried the Oxford, and I'll be free to say that the pronounciations it contains are professionally recorded. Thank you for ...

Re: Where can I find a good freeware English-English diction
Thank you for helping me. I like the dictionary you use, and it gathers definitions from different sources. Let me tell you that it suits me. I am an English-speaking person, and there is a hundred ways of determining whether a noun is a countable or an uncountable one. Do you use WordWeb or The sag...

Re: Non-visual desktop access
Hi to all! I have just discovered that NVDA reads some signs in relation to musical notes. For instance, it reads a flat sign following a note, and it reads a sharp sign following a note. Jaws is silent when it is on flat and/or a sharp sign. I hope this helps blind musicians.

I have noticed that there are people from non-English speaking countries who have joined the Librivox in order to help it achieve its goals. Thanks to all of them! Where can I find a good freeware English-English dictionary
As I have said in the subject line, I would like to find a good freeware English-English dictionary that can be downloaded and used offline. I use WordWeb and The Sage dictionary, but I would like to have a dictionary that gives a good explanation about parts of speech. For example, when I look up t...

Re: Non-visual desktop access
Yes, Anne. I understand you quite well. But, if you want to become the lord of it, you must try it yourself. It will take some time, but you will overcome what you do not know. If you want to understand it as best as you could, you can change the rate of the speech. If you want a clear voice, go to ...

Re: Non-visual desktop access
It will be most useful when you are running an application and waht to know some important information that NVDA can give by means of key combinations. For example, when I open a word window, and I want to know how much of RAM is used, I simply press NVDA (or insert or numeric 0) key plus Shift plus...

NVDA-related adons
Dear librivoxers! If some of you have started to use NVDA, and if you find it useful, but you would like to perform some more actions without making so much efforts, there are solutions to it. They are NVDA-related adons. I have installed those that I think I need. They are working properly. You can...

Dear Ruth, I am just writing to let you know that I have just set up the proper pronounciation of the emoticons inserted.
