And the Epode is ready! My goodness, Sonia, I wasn't expecting you to suffer nearly two hours of this in a day! Hope the rest of your weekend is infinitely more fun. Still, we're very nearly done ... and I don't know where you stand, but personally, I'm delighted to say that I have read absolu...

Re: Help! Reader with too many inhalation noises
Love this topic! So, are we talking great air gulps, which happen less often, or regular breathing which is happening throughout (obviously :D )? Because, I'd very highly recommend leaving the latter alone. Listening to recordings with breathing stripped out makes many listeners (including me!) feel...

Re: SOLO Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche (trans. Helen Zimmern) - tg
I would absolutely love to know what Helen Zimmern made of it! And they knew each other quite well, too ... it's boggling that he would trust her to understand his thinking and render it faithfully into another language, and yet make such ignorant generalisations about her gender. Chapter 8 is ready...

Hi Sonia and Tricia! I have time! I have energy! I have a newly completed chapter uploaded ... and think I might be on a roll with editing FINALLY! This one is a biggie, at 63m 54s -- though that said, the final one is so big it'll probably need a split. Will finish editing and see how it lands. :D

Re: LibriVox Community Podcast Planning
The Podcasts page lists the main theme of each recording, and if you scan back through this topic, you'll find the show notes which give more detail for each one. Combining both hopefully also gives an idea about the tone of the show ... these topics would need sensitive handling to be open to anyon...

Working in the loosest sense, yes. It's all recorded, I'm just ploughing through the editing very slowly indeed.

Re: Need a good Android audiobook player.
I like Smart AudioBook Player. The free/basic version plays and pauses effectively ... but I bought the premium version for the ability to see how far through a book I am which for some reason I always really need to know. :D Plus no ads in that one. I'm not a big app buyer, have bought maybe 5 in m...

Re: New Project Template Generator
Did you start from an older project, chymocles? Or was it a link you had saved in your bookmarks or perhaps a private message from an MC?
Karen's site used to be the template generator, but we've updated it -- it'd be good to update the link you used so other people don't have the same problem

Re: Addition of LibriVox Logo to Linkedin Page
FWIW, there is a LibriVox group at LinkedIn ... there's no activity whatsoever, all posting and comms are here in the forum. But, if you are a past or currently active LibriVoxer and want to add it to your groups listing (appears under 'Interests'), then go for it. https://www.linkedin.com/groups/87...

Re: One reader with two voices desired.
David Barnes and I did a poem like this :D ... Prothalamion by Edmund Spenser . It was a lot of fun (and a lot shorter!) What worked for us (as far as I remember, because it was quite a while ago) was having worked together on other things (so we knew that our editing standards, pace, approach to po...

Re: Recording Motivation
Here are some of my favourites (though my sig's been the same For A Really Long Time, these are just general quotes that motivate me.) The oldest books are still only just out to those who have not read them. — Samuel Butler It is what you read when you don't have to, that determines what you will b...

Gosh, I didn't think I'd get a PL-OK on this project at all ... that's great!
With the long weekend I had a little bit of a cold, so no recording, but lots of time to sit down with chapter 6 which is ready in the window.
