Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Hi Chris,

I've added comments to Section 7. It wasn't too bad at all. A lot of the words used in the Librivox books aren't familiar to modern readers, so it's easy to slip up on them.

Look forward to the next chapters! :)

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Section 6 is marked OK. I've listened to Section 7 and made a few notes. Too lazy to upload comments tonight. I'll do that tomorrow or Monday during our cold, possibly icy/snowy weather. We've had a mild winter and are spoiled.

Have a good Sunday! :)

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Fractured phrase of the day:

éclair cisse ment

Translation: "Éclair size meant". As in: the restaurant only served a small éclair for dessert, but I'm sure they meant to give me one that was a bigger size."

Yeah I'm reaching on that one!

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Hi Chris,

I listened to Section 5 and marked OK.

Looking forward to listening to some more of the chapters. I'm impressed with all the reading you've done on LibriVox. You must have a pretty full schedule. Do you ever sleep? :)

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Hi Chris, Yeah, I originally made a note about that one section where you'd left out part of a sentence. Then I later thought that as so many words would have to be added, it could mess up the rest of the chapter. I decided it would be best to leave that one part as is, rather than have to do the wh...

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Hi Chris, In reading your profile I see that you have a lot going on. I'm very impressed that you're also taking on all the volunteer projects that you're doing with LibriVox! I recently retired, so after many years of doing what I had to do for my job, I now have more time and leisure to do what I ...

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Section 1 sounds pretty good. The main thing to remember is to have a slight pause between each subject in the chapter. I'm impressed that you're taking on this project!

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

I've just finished adding PL Notes to Section 01 of this project. Will the reader be automatically notified as the notes were saved in the Magic Window, or do I need to notify him that I've made notes for this section? Am I supposed to show " PL Notes " in the Magic Window until Chris (the...

Re: [SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

Thank you for sending the username and password that I need for the Magic Window on this project. I'm not sure where I sign in. Is it at BC Admin, or somewhere else on the page? Chances are I've been looking right at the spot and not seeing it! When I finally do successfully log in and start...

Hi,

I haven't used the Magic Window before, so go ahead and send whatever I need.

I'm nervously  looking forward to working on my first LibriVox volunteer project!

Re: ~[SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

I've noticed when I start to listen to a section that the recording time isn't shown on the screen. Is this available through Google docs? I've requested access to it, though don't know if that's actually needed. Regarding the prooflistening template. Is this something that is needed only when brand...

Re: ~[SOLO] Mornings at Bow Street by John Wight - gu

I would like to try my hand at proof listening. I can start with the first section of this project. If I do OK, I can do additional chapters.

Just let me know if a listener is still needed, and what I need to do to start.

Re: ~[Autobiography] of Anthony Trollope - arb

If any of the chapters are still in need of a proof listeners, I would like to volunteer to do one chapter on this book. As I've never been a proof listener or reader for Librivox, for now I would prefer to start off with just one chapter. I have looked over the material on listening, and have a gen...

Re: 'Thank you' messages for LibriVox readers

Thank you to Tabithat (I believe I've spelled your name correctly.) For an excellent reading of "Australia Felix". This is a great book and you have done a wonderful job with it. Many thanks for many hours of listening pleasure!
