Re: Librivox Book Club: Jezebel's Daughter

The trip will take about 16.5 hours and I'm leaving monday morning at 6 am and hope to arrive at my destination before midnight. Since this book is 11.5 hours, it should fit in there nicely. There are miles and miles of road where I get no radio signal so this will keep me awake. I think I...

It appears we don't have very much Afrikaans in the catalog.

Re: Hello!

Welcome Jessica. If you are not stuck on Garage band, I'd highly recommend using Audacity. As Piotrek mentioned, there are far more audacity users and MANY who have converted from GB to audacity. GB is ok for music but has some strange things going on with the longer book file we have here. Esther :)

Re: Librivox Book Club: Jezebel's Daughter

Ok so I've never tried Wilkie Collins but I have a long trip ahead so I thought I would give this a try.

It's going on my mp3 player!

Re: How do you download our books?

Only zip. Faster and more convenient. Ditto. I have recently downloaded and created 6 data CD's for my mom whom I will be visiting next week. She has a typical boom box that plays mp3 CD's. Unfortunately, my car stereo will not play mp3 CD's so I load the books on my little mp3 player that plugs in...

Bruce, I've never heard of him. I'm downloading both of these now for myself and my legally blind mother.

Hi Gary from Northern Ontario. I grew up in Barrie though and lived in Innisfil for 20 years before moving to the North. ;) I listen on my 16.5 hour trip back to Barrie to see family. The books keep my focus and I don't fall asleep. I usually choose mysteries for the trip to keep my mind occupied. :...

Re: Greetings from Chicagoland!

Welcome!

This link will help with the proof listening. Most project don't require the proof listener to check technical specs but your co-ordinator will love you if you do. ;)

Re: New listener

Here is a link to help you get started with proof listening.

Most proof listeners like to check the technical specs as well as the actual reading and your co-ordinator will LOVE you if you check the specs too. ;)

If you want to cheat, there is a recent movie made by CBC from this book to celebrate its 100th anniversary. http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Shows/More_Shows/Sunshine_Sketches/2190185306/ID=2195798642 I was disappointed in the movie. They added a whole new main storyline (the author when he was young, an...
