Oh, of course! I forgot about compression! I used it on my first one (because I was glued to the wiki pages in fear of doing something wrong), then completely forget about it on the other two. I can go ahead and do that tonight, if you want.

FYI: When you want to be louder please move back slightly from the mic. This will give the tone of being louder without actually changing the volume. Well, I was so excited to get started that I didn't waste any time. I hope I did a decent job editing. Pretty sure I cleaned up the background noise adequately, so please give me any feedback you have, technical or otherwise.

Oh yeah. One other question. It wasn't an issue for my tests, but I'm sure that, for a longer recording, it will be. I live across the street from a train track, and we get trains multiple times a day, all day and night. If a train comes through, I should just be able to stop and wait for it to pass...

Ok, I passed my 1-minute test! I'm hoping it won't take me too long to figure out things like editing and noise reduction. I've been given some good links that should explain how to do that kind of stuff. Maybe I could just do chapter 17 for now, and see how I do with it, to get my feet wet? Any adv...
