Re: Bethmarie210 1-Minute Test
Welcome Beth I reviewed your test sample, and while it sounds good there are some technical changes needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate MP3, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86dB and 92dB, preferably 89-90. Your test audio is 123kbps variable bit rate, stereo, and...

Re: Greg's test file
Okay, almost there. The settings are correct, so well done. There is too much background noise by about 10dB. It sounds mechanical, like a fan. Try to isolate your mic from the noise, such as computer fan. If that isn’t entirely successful, use Audacity’s Noise Removal filter to reduce the backgroun...

Welcome Jenna Your technical settings are correct and voice sounds good, but there is too much background noise by about 15dB. The AC is distinctly audible. (You are using AC already? We still have the heater running.) Anyway, try to isolate your mic from the noise. If that isn’t entirely successful...

Re: 1-Minute Test - bumblecrumble
The volume is too low at 84.9dB. A fairly foolproof way to set perfect volume is to go to Effects>Loudness Normalization , choose RMS and enter -23dB (Checker uses a different scale - this is the same as +89db). Do this as the final step before exporting your MP3. I use RMS Normalization on all my r...
