Just uploaded Paradise Lost section #2. YouSendIt.com acted peculiarly at the very end, hanging for a long time, reporting a larger file size, and telling me it was 102% complete. If it doesn't come through in good shape, please let me know and I'll send it again. The link is: http://download.yousen...

Blue Carbuncle Update

Update on Chapter 7: I've run into a bit of a delay with my reading due to my brand-spanking new USB desktop mic making irritating popping and clicking when I record to my laptop. But I've found it sounds fine on one of the family desktops, so I'm hoping to record The Blue Carbuncle this weekend.

Mine's just a desktop mic, so at least I don't have the headset popping problems (My kids don't have their rubber duckies anymore!). I've discovered my mic works just fine on our old, decrepit EMachine desktop so I'll probably have to use that for recording. I can get the popping to stop momentarily...

Mine's a Compaq (now Hewlett Packard) Presario 16?? laptop. I think it's a 2002 model. I will say that the microphone jack is MUCH worse... that's why I got the USB mic. A good friend of mine who's a professional audio guy is going to look at a sample and see if he can figure anything out. If not, I...

Popping Sound

Hi! I've got a brand new Logitec USB desktop mic and I'm finding it makes little electronic-sounding "pops" every so often when I record. I've tried using the "Crackle Removal" (or whatever it's really called; I'm at work and don't have my Audacity with me :) ), but it doesn't do...

The Memoirs

May I have #6, The Reigate Puzzle ? I've always loved the bit of acting Holmes does in that one.

Greetings From Texas, USA

As an inveterate disciple of Wiki type things I was poking around the audio files onWikisource and noticed that 1.) They were all excellently recorded and 2.) they all began with the blurb: "This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain..." "Free, publ...
