Re: [LAW] The Nature of the Judicial Process by Benjamin N. Cardozo -jo

I am sorry it has taken me this long to PL section 3. Another great read, with just a few substantive deviations from the text: 7:27 That is the (not one) great truth in Savigny's theory of its origin. 7:42 and its embodiment in legal forms (not norms). 22:17 It is (not Is it) because it has been th...

Re: SOLO: U.S. Senate Election, Expulsion, and Censure Cases, 1793-1990-lny

Thanks much, Kevin! I've uploaded a few more sections for you. My recording booth will be out of commission for (what I hope is only) a few days next week, just FYI. I'll upload what I have finished before then.

Thanks again,

Section 2 is PL OK! I agree with your decision to add the footnote: it provides additional context and illumination. I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Re: [GROUP] Triumphant Democracy by Andrew Carnegie - tg

And section 25 (Chapter 18, part 2) is here: https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/triumphantdemocracy_25_carnegie_128kb.mp3 Time is 33:47. This morning's fun fact: we have our own Department of Fisheries to thank for bringing the carp to America (and in enormous numbers, which Andy seems to think wa...

Kevin, I've posted through case 113 (section 115), which takes us to the end of Direct Election and the 1920s. Section 113 is Robert La Follette. I think I've pronounced his name correctly, but do let me know.

Thanks for listening,

Re: SOLO: Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible, Unabridged, Acts - lny

Jeff, those are Linny's notes. I think she may be referring to your initial posts, in which you toggled sections to See PL Notes but there was nothing to change or correct in them. By convention, only the PLer can mark a section PL OK. My response to a See PL Note is to make the correction/change, r...

Thanks, Linny. PS, the title of the group read is 1912-1922, but the first speech in the group is 1913. :hmm:

Re: [GRP] State of the Union Addresses 1912-1922 (Wilson/Harding) – lny

And section 2 (Wilson 1914) is here: https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/stateoftheunion_1913_1922_02_various_128kb.mp3 Time is 36:45. I think every state of the union message I have recorded has complained about the condition of the Merchant Marine (in which my grandfather served), Wilson being just...
