Hello Algy,
I've got a new rig, could I contribute please? Should it be raw or am I supposed to noise-clean the recording?
Thanks!

[SOLVED] Re: Some kind of radio interference?
Ha!... It wasn't really as tough as I thought... Damn. I ought to be more diligent before writing. Anyway, thank you for not laughing at me. Yet, anyway. I found the source. It was my router. As soon as I turned it off, there was blissful silence. When I turned it back on and it has booted up, there...

Re: Some kind of radio interference?
Thank you for taking a look. If by those RF suppressors you mean an oblong (essentially cylindrical) thing, about 1" in length and 1/2" diameter, which snaps over the cable, I have tried one, I think. I pulled it off another USB cable, snapped over the one connecting the mic, and while it'...

[SOLVED] Some kind of radio interference?
Hello, I noticed a while ago that when I use a USB device (first it was Samson Go Mic, then the Yeti, and now I've seen it in Presonus Audiobox iOne as well) at my desk, I get a constant (about 5 Hz) rhythm in my recording. Apparently the mic (or the converter in Audiobox) picks something up and pas...

Re: Thumping noise in sound tract!
A pop filter works best if you speak directly into the microphone. The filter stops air from reaching the microphone at high velocities and also protects the mic from accidental saliva drops. If you already speak past the microphone, it's less likely you're breathing into it, although it's possible ...

Re: Thumping noise in sound tract!
I don't hear anything unusual between 48 and 54 seconds. :hmm: If you select a portion from 51.16 to 52.8 (words "it seemed impossible"), you will hear a thud at the beginning of "seemed" and at the end of the fragment. I've extracted and uploaded it as https://librivox.org/uplo...

Re: Thumping noise in sound tract!
Gloria, What mic do you use? How is it held? If it's on a stand, is there a shock mount? If it's a headset, can the cable be snagged against something on your desk? Where are your hands while you're reading? I noticed in my recordings (Yeti on its own very rigid stand, on a foam pad on the desk, han...
