Re: OPEN: [Dramatic Reading] JANE EYRE by Charlotte Brontë -

I've uploaded the corrected file to: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/janeeyre_stjohnrivers_30.mp3 The recording now has a running time of 9:01 and the re-recorded lines are from roughly 4:26 to 4:38. I have upgraded my microphone since the original recording was made and unfortunately (a...

Re: 'Famous' People Who You Would Like to Record for Librivo

Right now I'm on a bit of a Jared Harris kick so I'd definitely love to hear an audiobook read by him. For those who don't know him by name, he was Lane in Mad Men, Moriarty in the most recent Sherlock Holmes movie and played a memorable recurring villain on Fringe. He's also incidentally Richard Ha...

Re: Replacement microphone question

I think it's fairly well balanced- I've never had to clip it to the monitor :) But it looks unbalanced doesn't it? You might want to get a second Go-Mic user's opinion :D Thanks - I was guessing that probably the base is more solid than the top which would keep it balanced but it's definitely usefu...

Re: Replacement microphone question

‘BLUE’ make some really good microphones. It might be worth having a look at the Blue Snowball at around $68 as well. Have you had a listen to The Microphone Showdown on LV? http://librivox.org/microphone-showdown-i-wandered-lonely-as-a-cloud-by-william-wordsworth/ Thanks for the recommendation and...

Replacement microphone question

Lately I've been contemplating purchasing another microphone to replace my Logitech USB desk microphone and my hand seems to have been forced in the last couple of days as it can no longer stand upright by itself (left alone the microphone part just collapses down onto the desk) meaning I'm having t...

Chuck - I took a stab at recording the Man at the Telegraph Office part today and uploaded it (http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/filmoffear_manattelegraphoffice_5.mp3 - 0:14). Hopefully it's okay, in spite of my unconvincing American accent! :)

Re: LV Community Podcast 132: The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

To echo some of the other comments here, I really enjoyed listening to this podcast. I came to this one with really no knowledge of the work and yet I found it interesting and informative and I shall now certainly go off and download one of the recordings showcased in the podcast. Thanks to all invo...
