Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
It would be great to know if the genres field is coming back. I haven't been able to import new books since the old API went down, and am working on re-building my import code to match the new API. I would hate to drop support for genres unnecessarily. Thanks!

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
Regarding the "Reader" information, anyhow, I think it would be great for apps - people ask me for that feature all the time. Right now, I think it is supposed to be included in the chapter data in the RSS feeds, which is fine, as many books have multiple readers. The problem is, for most ...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
The main thing that it seems to lack from my point of view is a good way to get a listing of the most recent books. The "since" field is nice, and I can probably build something to work with that, but I don't see a way to request, for example, the 5 most recent books. Also, I suppose that ...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
Thanks! I'll try it out! Since the status is "released," I am assuming that we can expect it to stay the same for now.

Re: User Feedback from Mobile Apps
Thanks! I've only had it up for a few months, so I'm expecting more reviews to accumulate.

Re: User Feedback from Mobile Apps
Thanks again, Ruth, for all of your great reading! I always enjoy listening to your books. I would love to include the reader information with the books - in fact, one of the most frequent requests I get from app users is a better way to search by reader. The problem is that the data I have from the...

Re: User Feedback from Mobile Apps
I checked, and yes, it is 5 words, not 15! Perhaps I should change it to say 6 ratings instead of 6 reviews, since some reviews are nothing more than a rating. Thanks again!

Re: User Feedback from Mobile Apps
Glad you like it! The reviews only show up on the web page if they are more than about 15 words in length. Sometimes users just give a rating without any text, or just a few characters of text, which doesn't seem very useful to show. Also, if there are lots of reviews, I only show the top 10 or so, ...

User Feedback from Mobile Apps
I have been working on mobile apps for LibriVox for a bit over a year, and think they have been helpful in bringing LibriVox books to a wider audience (we now have close to a million installs.) A few months back, I added the ability to rate and review books (not entirely in the LibriVox spirit, but ...

[No error?] Edmond Hamilton - The Stars, My Brothers
I just got this feedback from one of my users. It appears to be correct, although I don't have the text of the book to know for sure: Edmond Hamiltons the stars my brothers is not complete. Both recordings overlap Another user posted about the same book: Was good...... ended after part 2 ? seemed li...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
I think you are correct - I was thinking of the RSS urls like http://librivox.org/rss/6934, which do let you put in the id of books in progress. By the way, I recently listened to your recording of Wild England, and thought it was great!

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
Perhaps he is referring to books that haven't been completed? I think they may show up in the search API.
