Re: ~OPEN [DR] Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott-mas

This is Shasta whom you invited to join today. I note that Chapter 11 (Surgeon) is open. Is there a way that I can access Chapter 11 and test read it before deciding whether to claim it? I am new to this and am having some difficulty finding my way around.

Re: FULL[HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -

The total time for the recording was 9:19, including the intro stuff about it being in the public domain, etc. The time of the recording starting with the chapter itself including the brief terminal announcement that it was at the end, was 8:48. Which is the time I should use?

Re: FULL[HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -

Thanks, I will look there in the future. Why is my chapter the only one with no numbers under the heading "Notes" and what do the numbers mean?

Re: FULL[HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -

How will I know whether the chapter I read (33) and submitted was acceptable and that I need not re-do or edit it?

Re: FULL[HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -

I still am unable to locate your identity as MC. There is an MC link just below the magic window, but that didn't seem to work as a source of your MC identity for upload purposes. Of course, I can always ask, as I did with you, before uploading, but I would rather not need to do that. I do see that ...

Yes I did name it as you indicate. Sorry for mis-naming the file. Obviously, I have not studied the instructions sufficiently.

The thing is, I did in fact copy the update URL and past it here and submit it with a short message. Well, you seem to have found it, so we won't worry about it further.

Re: FULL[HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -

I don't see my posting of my first read, i.e., Section 33. Shouldn't I see it? Did you see it?

When uploading the file, it asks for the mc. How do identify the mc for this project?

Re: [HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -ke

I believe I will stick to Shasta as my catalog name. I asked the question about copy&paste because the Librivox Getting Ready instructions say that, after downloading the text from its online link, "It helps to save the text to your computer and add any information you need to read; . . . , but its ...

Re: [HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -ke

:help: Ok, so I find that I am able to download the book to my computer screen. But I don't seem able to copy and paste the pages of my section. I am unable to 'select' any of the pages. Is it possible to do this some way?

Re: [HISTORY] The Story of Old France by H. A. Guerber -ke

I am a very new reader whose preliminary 1-minute test was "passed" yesterday. I was told to go ahead an choose a project and claim something to read. I would like to claim and read Section 33. I assume that when I load the book I will have no trouble locating Section 33. Right? Also, in the intro b...

New from Oakland, CA

HI, In all modesty, I Just couldn't resist offering up my wonderful, mellifluous voice to this project. My wife and I are retired attorneys residing in Oakland, California. I am quite ancient but seem to have enough of my wits about me to think I can succeed as a reader. I'll give it a try anyway. W...
