Re: ~[GROUP] Why do we need a public library? by Various -an

Due to travel and family obligations, I will not have time to record any new projects until mid- to late January. However, if that will be soon enough, I would love to read "The Immigrant in the Library" (section 3). Please let me know either way, thanks :)

Re: OPEN [SS] Imaginotions: Truthless Tales, by Tudor Jenks

Hi Carolin, I'd like to give up sections 7 and 8, please ("The Astrologer's Niece" and "The Astrologer's Niece Marries"). I absolutely adore these stories, but with every reading I become more convinced that I'm just not the right person to read them. I have hopes that a male volunteer will take the...

Re: Oh, the background noises!

Didn't one of our readers do a comedy routine on noise interruptions for the 10th anniversary podcast? Would anyone happen to know where that is these days? This made me think of this little podcast... it wasn't a comedy routine, just a sound snippet collection of readers being interrupted by backg...

Re: Oh, the background noises!

Kim, yeah, I think I might develop a new phobia -- not: "Did I turn the stove off?" but "Did I plug the fridge back in?" Rachel, my own fridge isn't *right* next to me, but it's just a few steps. It seems to always turn on whenever everything else has quieted down  But I'm onto it now...

Oh, the background noises!

I suppose this isn't entirely off-topic, but this seemed like the best forum thread to put my thoughts. I'm new to Librivox, and am really loving my new hobby :) I'm learning new things every day, and one of the biggest surprises for me was (and continues to be) the sheer amount of background noises...

You're welcome Joey :) I don't know much about how things work around here, but I do know how to get a first recording done :D

Hi avocado, You can post your 1-minute test in the "Listeners & Editors Wanted" forum. Here's a link: https://forum.librivox.org/viewforum.php?f=21 Once your 1-minute test gets the OK, you can sign up to read your first poem/short text, like the one you offered to read here. The coordinator for the ...

Having thought about this a bit more, I'd love to take "The Astrologer's Nice Marries" as well. I think the two stories need to be read by the same person, and I adore them, so I'd love to read them both :)

Re: OPEN [poetry] Songs of Cheer by John Kendrick Bangs -ck

Carolin, just a quick question please :) When a project is published, do the respective readers get a notification? Or do I need to keep track of my recordings, if I want to know when they become available to the public?

Thanks :)
