I have it set on the highest setting(my mic) I also tried to adjust it on Audacity with the amps etc, but when I tried, I could not click on anything to adjust it. I don't know why.. .maybe...

Thwacking is one option ... some folks do a tongue click, and another neat idea is a Snapple lid* (or similar small clicky thing) which are both kinder to your mic in the long-term. * This only works if you don't have a dog trained by that sound in the house, otherwise you'll have canine antics beh...

For some reason it does that after I thwack the mic so I know I messed up and am starting over. I guess I just have to wait longer before I start speaking for it to normalize. I bought a new microphone - hopefully its better. I can rerecord if you want.
