I'm completely unfamiliar with this poet - may I please claim number 55, An Exile's Farewell?

Re: [group] Short Ghost and Horror Story Collection 027 -bar

Good evening! I'd like to contribute the following. I hope it's suitably spooky. 'Thurnley Abbey' by Perceval Landon (1868-1927) Etext: http://gaslight.mtroyal.ca/thurnley.htm MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/bart/ghohor027_thurnleyabbey_landon_el_128kb.mp3 Duration: 37.50 I'm afraid Landon is not ...

Re: OPEN [PLAYS] One Act Play Collection - 008 - maryann

Here's the file for Akbar Almad, new and improved - I hope. It's the original file with the new material added to the end. I've recorded a few versions/pronunciations of the line, and they're on this file between 00.58-01.32. I do hope that one of these matches the readings you already have, but if ...

Re: [Grp/Fiction] The Grey Man by S.R.Crockett -ck

Chapter 2 has two very small repetitions during the exchange between the narrator and the saucy young lady:

11.46-11.57: 'Remember you are not shooting at a rantipole cockshy at Maybole fair.'

12.33-12.37: '...with a voice like Mistress Pussie's velvet paws.'

Otherwise it's good!

Sections 12, 13, 14 and 15 are PL okay. This book is wild! I can't wait to hear about the stakeout-cum-wolf-trap.

Re: OPEN [PLAYS] One Act Play Collection - 008 - maryann

Thanks, Algy. I don't know what I came up with for the last line, but it was my attempt to mimic what I heard (or thought I heard!) when I used the 'read out loud' button on google translate. O dear. Well, at least it gave you a laugh! I'll have another crack at it, but it probably won't be until ne...

Re: ~[OPEN] Short Works on Sports-maryann

For what it's worth, the information on the book's title page refers to John Taylor as 'Late Broadsword Master to the Light Horse Volunteers of London and Westminster'. I've been trying to find his dates from library catalogues, but perhaps I've been barking up the wrong tree.
