Re: Audacity : Import File
Hello Ruth As this is my very first recording and I’m not yet all that familiar with Audacy, I’m afraid of mucking up the whole recording while “cleaning” it. So for the time being I think it’s better operate on the patient bit by bit, and if anything should go wrong it’s just one section that would...

Re: [TEEN Adventure] In Desert & Wilderness, H Sienkiewicz -
Hello David It seems that you’ve got the pronunciation right. --> Mess-ers “Messrs” probably comes from the French Messieurs (pronounced maysiers) and has been Anglesized. It means Gentlemen. I’ve pronounced it half English half French style. An audio here : http://www.macmillandictionary.com/pronun...

Re: Audacity : Import File
Thank you both for your answers.
Copy / Paste to new track, yes I’ve already done that. But it’s a bit of a hassle.
That’s why I was looking for a quicker way.
Oh well ! I’ll have to like it or lump it, won’t I ?
Have a great week,
Philippe.

Audacity : Import File
Hello there I have several bits of recording and would like them to show up, one under the other on different tracks, in the Same project window. I've tried "File/Import", but audacity replies : " Audacity does not recognise file type " although the file is an .AUP. Import "Raw" imports an empty tra...

Re: [TEEN Adventure] In Desert & Wilderness, H Sienkiewicz -
Good morning Elizabby 1 ) Intro is done and will be added. I have already listened to David to get the pronunciation of the author’s name and of “Messrs.” 2 ) Yes. I have done the noise cleaning bit. I’m afraid I don’t hear the background “odd buzz”. For my test, Ruth supposed that it comes from the...

Re: Translating into Spanish/French
Hello Ananr As I’m a bit dense, I had to read the Intro/Explanation several times that is the first post on every project page. And all of a sudden I was asking myself (yes, I do talk to myself) if a Frenchman whose Mother Tongue is not English : could understand the subtleties of the text ? So I’ve...

Re: [TEEN Adventure] In Desert & Wilderness, H Sienkiewicz -
Hello
I’m sorry to bother you, but I do need a little help.
Could you listen to this first recording and tell me if I’m on the right track ?
Recording : 2 min 20 sec.
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/rec_01_desert_wilderness.mp3
Thanks,
Philippe.

Hi Elizabby
Just “Philippe” is fine.
I have no Blog.
And I prefer no links to my websites.
I suppose you can delete these five last posts so as not to clog up this thread.
Have a nice one,
Ph.

Re: [TEEN Adventure] In Desert & Wilderness, H Sienkiewicz -
Hello Elizabby
For the reader prifile, the name is Philippe (one "L", two "P"s - French style).
Do you need anything else ?
I have a question :
Would you prefer I post the recording in three or four bits,
( which would allow you to see if I’m on the right track ),
or all in one go ?

Re: [TEEN Adventure] In Desert & Wilderness, H Sienkiewicz -
Hello The name is Philippe (but login dumbo). I’m a newcomer, not having recorded anything yet, so I would like to start out with a short text. On the Gutenberg Project I see : Part First VI Starting with “ Messrs. Rawlinson and Tarkowski actually expected the children . . .” 1 745 words 9 717 car I...

Hello ananr I’ve translated the page “How to Volunteer” ( original here : http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/How_to_Volunteer ) I’ve put it up on a web site from which you can download, as I don’t know how to put a Word document on the Forum. The download address is : http://www.golfbouffe.com You w...

Incorrect Linck
Hello
I don't know where to post this ; I hope it's the right place.
On the LibriVox Wiki page "How to Volunteer" http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/How_to_Volunteer
the link to the "Contact Page" displays "We weren't able to find that project".

Re: Translating into Spanish/French
Good evening I’ve set up a Wiki account on Wikipedia, and can now login on Wiki pages I visit. But funnily enough, I can’t login to Libribox Wiki pages (user name unknown). Is there a catch ? Or do I have to have a Librivox login ? This isn't a problem for the time being as I can download the Wiki s...

Re: Translating into Spanish/French
Hello Ruth I’m afraid that I didn’t express myself correctly, didn’t make myself clear. I wasn’t asking you to proofread any translation, just suggesting to Anar that she proof reads if she has the time. I’ll take a look at the links and copy the text into Word, but I don’t know the first thing abou...
