Re: [Solo] Poetry of St John of the Cross-icequeen

I could use a little advice again. Most of these poems have an English title only, followed by the poem in English, but the last seven have the English title, followed by the first line in Spanish, then the poem begins in English.... or, the first line in Spanish, followed by the English title, foll...

Re: [OPEN] Short Science Fiction Collection 051 -alg1001

Well, the Internet Archive has scans of The Strand from 1891 to 1922. They're all lumped in chaotic order on one page here: https://archive.org/details/TheStrandMagazineAnIllustratedMonthly with this description: This is a collection of the bound editions of 'The Strand Magazine: An Illustrated Mont...

Re: [OPEN] Short Science Fiction Collection 051 -alg1001

Hi Amy, Here's some gaslight sci-fi from the Jules Verne era. Hope its not too old for the style of the collection. Its by Grant Allen, a prolific science writer that LV has recorded, but not this kind of material. It originally appeared in The Strand Magazine, Dec 1897, and the only 'gutenberg' its...

Re: [Solo] Poetry of St John of the Cross-icequeen

I've uploaded 02, 03. and 08. Do I need to post that fact here, or does it show in your workflow after I've put it in the MW?

Re: [Solo] Poetry of St John of the Cross-icequeen

Thank you for the kind words. I snipped that, uploaded it again, and added the times. While we're discussing empty boxes, the only ID3 tags I used were the "examples:" Author, Album Title, and Track. Should I be filling any others in, like date, or whatever?

Re: [Solo] Poetry of St John of the Cross-icequeen

Thanks, I didn't mind redoing the uploads anyway. 1) repetition certainly helps you remember to do it right next time, and 2) clicking and pasting is really a rather happy and simple-minded joy, right up there with say, watching the grass grow after a soaking rain. No, really. Just point me to a law...

Re: [Solo] Poetry of St John of the Cross-icequeen

ugh, no it didn't, but it wasn't the interface's problem. Because I had uploaded last night to an annise project, I chose her for the MC of each upload, realized it 10 minutes later, re-uploaded to you, and the correct link does show in the window now. Annise, if you got this far trying to figure ou...

Re: [Solo] Poetry of St John of the Cross-icequeen

Ann, I have files to post in the MW, but it has apparently forgotten me. I can't log in via the BC Admin under the window, it just goes to a page that says I don't have permission, without a log-in box. I tried again with the Google document you posted to me, and the link within that document goes t...

Re: [group] Helping Himself by Horatio Alger - phil

Exactly. And these chapters are about "little" Abner Barton, Herbert's unexpected ally. And Mrs. Barton has Mammy Yokum's entitled authority, without, alas, the good humor and the famous Yokum whammy.

Re: [group] Helping Himself by Horatio Alger - phil

Phil, I've got chapters to claim, but since this will bump us to the top of the forum again, I want to say that this is a great book for new voices, and I hope they'll fill it in a little. Lively characters, speech that could be a little serious or a little camp and work both ways, accessible langua...
