Re: Multilingual Short Works Collection 020 - icequeen

Kevin Stroud, the host of "The History of English Podcast" http://historyofenglishpodcast.com/ , has generously donated a recording of a poem in Middle English. He doesn't have time to post it himself so I am his surrogate. Please let me know if anything needs to be fixed. I've been working with Kev...

The Early History of the Typewriter

I bumped into this while googling the phrase "now is the time for all good men to come to the air of the party." The Early History of the Typewriter, by Charles Edward Weller. Published 1918. https://archive.org/details/earlyhistorytyp00wellgoog It's only 87 pages long, including appendix, and seems...

Re: Catalog Problem

Kaffen, I keep a personal page with links to all of my solos and duets and just send people there if they want to find my recordings :D

It's much easier than trying to describe how to find the advanced search, put my name in, tick completed, tick solos...

Re: Can I record an audiobook of something already recorded?

In other words, you are welcome to record your own version of anything that's already in our catalog -- we have multiple versions of many books. Check out "Pride and Prejudice"! It would be a pity if you couldn't record your favorite book just because someone else beat you to it, and having multiple...

Re: A Historical Timeline of LibriVox and such (draft)

I became an admin in January 2013. The new catalogue system was being established but was not finalized. I was reluctant to learn the old system, knowing it was to be deleted so I waited until the new system was in place before MCing my first project. That was August 2013. The first post in the adm...

Re: A Historical Timeline of LibriVox and such (draft)

Amazing!! How lovely to see it all laid out like that, and be reminded of the milestones and of the voices who aren't with us anymore, some deceased and some moved on to other things. It was so much fun in the early days when I knew every voice and every project. I tried adding comments to your doc ...

Re: [FULL] World's Story 2: India, Persia, Mesopotamia, Palestine - kit

I only have one tiny note for the title: > at 0:11 : could you also please give the time, as mentioned after the title: “How the Persians built a house (about 1885) by S.G.W. Benjamin”. It's nice to know the historical context of a chapter. Oops! Sorry I missed that. All fixed: https://librivox.org...

Re: [FULL] World's Story 2: India, Persia, Mesopotamia, Palestine - kit

Here's section 79: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume02_079_tappan_128kb.mp3 -- 3:21 I recorded this for the April Adventure challenge, because I rarely if ever read Eastern history. I'm glad I did! Short, sweet, and interesting. :) Also, this is my first recording after 2 months o...
