Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Funeral: or Grief A-La-Mode by Richard Steele - thw

Here's the remaining SDs apart from Act 1 and the prefaces. I've tacked the Epilogue onto Act 5. https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/funeralorgriefalamode_sd_3_128kb.mp3 (5:04) https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/funeralorgriefalamode_sd_4_128kb.mp3 (4:21) https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/funeral...

Hi Todd

Here's stage directions for Act 2. Please check you're happy with what I'm doing before I do any more.

Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Funeral: or Grief A-La-Mode by Richard Steele - thw

Hi Todd, I'd be happy to do the stage directions for this. I've not done one for quite a while. Can you remind me: - Do I do 'exit's - if so, presumably I need to say who is exiting? - Do I do 'aside' and similar instructions that should be audible in the character's voice? - With directions at the ...

Re: Tell a joke

Can't take credit for this one - heard on Radio 4 yesterday. Thought it would appeal to word lovers though..

Did you hear about the Buddhist monk who was doing research on alternatives to novocaine in root canal treatment?

He was into trends in dental medication

Re: PM problem?

Ah! Thanks Peter.

That's actually quite a useful feature - if only it wasn't different from every other mail system I use!

Best Regards, Chris.

[SOLVED] PM problem?

Hi

I've just sent a PM and it's still sitting in my outbox half an hour later. Am I doing something wrong? I've sent them successfully in the last 48hrs. :?

Thanks, Chris.

Re: Play Suggestions

Picking up on Anne's suggestion, I've been looking into the possibility of some kind of vocoder effect to post-process the voice. Much safer. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Play Suggestions

Yup. Apparently they now come with a string attached so you can yank it out of your gullet if you accidentally swallow it!

Re: Play Suggestions

Ah I see. Certainly would be a safer option! But again, something I would need permission for I guess - but from whom?

Re: Play Suggestions

Thank you Anne.

I'm looking into the PD question - there are various versions of the original M/S out there.

I'd quite forgotten about voice modification. I fear asking a Librivoxer to use a 'swazzle' (with associated danger of choking) might be beyond my/our remit, but I'll certainly think on it.

Re: Play Suggestions

Thanks Felix.

I'm going to wait for an 'official' (admin) response on the subject matter before I get too excited.
