Hi bovis.rex, I assigned you section 21, but stupidly I did not realize you were new to the system. So what name would you like in the catalog, and do you have URL you want associated with it? Also, after you answer that, someone will have to tell me how to go and change the catalog name and URL :) ...

speaking for myself, mouth noise grosses me out, but I'm in the minority. (partly it's that I always listen on headphones.) yours is not too bad though, and you also have a very nice voice! I wish I could tell you what the solution is because sometimes mine is worse or better and I don't know why. G...

the LA times has an article today saying that publishers can now disable the text-to-speech feature on Kindle e-books. The gist is that the copyright claims were probably not going to hold up, but angering publishers would equal less content for the Kindle. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-kind...

Not that I would know, but I doubt the Authors Guild could win this. I believe that text to speech is included in Windows these days, every Windows, not just Windows for blind people. There's no law that only blind people can buy audio books or text to speech software. You could have been sending yo...

Hi all,

Suddenly I am no longer getting the emails telling me new messages have been posted, so that's why the magic window hasn't been updated till now, but don't worry I'm still around and I am about to make all the updates.

sometimes you can record streaming audio with audacity. it depends on your sound card. or also you can get a cable and connect the headphone output to the mic input, that works too. for your own personal use, etc.

I am so sorry that I recorded without confirmation. I will refrain from doing so in the future. I was just over-ambitious and wanted to try recording even if it was a waste of time. Having said this, I would like to sign up for section 19, and will wait to be assigned the section. Is it okay just t...
