Re: Short Story Collection Vol. 053 - gu

Hey, darkhorse, try playing with the Change Speed and Change Tempo filters on Audacity and see if you can get it to smoosh the length of your file down to a more manageable size (without making you sound like a chipmunk, of course). It's worth a try... don't forget to save a copy of the original be...

Re: Short Story Collection Vol. 053 - gu

John:

I recorded the story, but it clocked in at 70 minutes, even once I edited out my mistakes and long pauses. I suspect The Artist of the Beautiful would take a similar length of time, so I am going to find something else to read. Sorry to be such a pain.

Re: ~[FAIRY TALES] Cocoa Break Collection Vol 02 by Various

I would also like to do "The Espousal of the Rat's Daughter" from the book of Japanese fairy tales. Is there a thread where I can get help with Japanese pronunciations? There's a word or two in the story I don't know. Thanks.

I would also like to do a Carl Sandburg story, if that is ok: "The Two Skyscrapers Who Decided to Have a Child."

Re: Short Story Collection Vol. 053 - gu

Can you let me know how you would like your name to appear in our database? Some people use their forum name, some use their real name, others use a completely different name altogether. Here's an example of one reader's page so you can see what I'm talking about: https://catalog.librivox.org/peopl...

Re: Short Story Collection Vol. 053 - gu

Perfect! I'll start with Rappacinni's Daughter . Just a few pronunciation questions before I begin; in the introduction of this story, there are various story titles listed, followed by abbreviations... I'm not sure what the abbreviations stand for. For example: Le Voyage Celeste de Fer , 3 tom. "To...

Re: Short Story Collection Vol. 053 - gu

Ooh, I see there is already a Nathaniel Hawthorne story here, I'd love to add to that. How about Rappaccini's Daughter and The Artist of the Beautiful? I'd love to read them.

Re: uploading files

Thanks so much for the help, gypsygirl and carol:) I just have one more question (for now  ) I got the test uploaded and it told me to post the url in the forums... is that necessary when it's just a test or is that only if you're doing a project? If it is necessary, what section should it go ...

uploading files

Hello. I am trying to upload my 1 minute test and it is rather frustrating. I am wondering what is meant on the LibriWiki page when it says, under the instructions for exporting files, "fill out the information exactly as it is in the first post." What is the "first post"? More specifically, I am wo...

downloading Lame

Hello. I'm new here, and I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but here it goes. I have downloaded Audacity without any problem, but I was unable to download Lame, which as I understand it, will allow me to upload my files as mp3 files. My computer is a MacBook Air, and it se...
