Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 048- alg

Thanks Amy, I shall make a note and try to remember this next time. Also: I was thinking of recording "The Land Ironclads" H.G.Wells (1903); I'm fairly sure it's in the PD and can be found on PG Australia ( http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0604041h.html ; do you have any thoughts on this? Best regar...

Thanks again Phil,
I took a quick look at the video and all is now perfectly clear.
Cheers!

Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 048- alg

Many thanks Phil, I'm still a little 'wet behind the ears' and miss a few things; so, can you tell me for future reference, should the Album title simply have read: Librivox Short Sci-fi Story Collection, vol.048. Perhaps this is another candidate for your very useful videos, which I have been glean...

Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 047- alg

Hi Amy, Thank you very much for the PL. I have noticed on both of my last uploads that you have attached a note saying "file name", does this mean I am missing something on the ID3 V2 tags: if so, is it the 'chapter' number? If you are able to supply an example to put me right on this I would be mos...

Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 047- alg

Hi Amy, I have already submitted a story for this collection, but I hope you will also consider this one, if not for the present collection then maybe the next. It is another 'odd one', and I think it particularly ironic (when considering the content of this work) that the authors most notable work ...

Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 047- alg

Hi Amy, I wanted to have a go at this story simply because I think it is new to the series of collections; it isn't brilliant, but I found it quite funny and it appeals to my 'tech' nature. There are one or two anomalies in the Project Gutenberg, scripted ,version that simply didn't read well or mak...

Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 046- alg

Hi again Amy, I had some problems trying to sort out the noise cleaning, as most attempts caused an unearthly echo. So, I reduced all background interference and re-recorded; although when editing I still had quite a struggle removing noise (all good practice though). I have reduced the silence leng...

Re: Short Science Fiction Collection 046- alg

Hi Amy, This is my first go at posting a story, so I’ve gone for a short, and I think, amusing one; please have a listen and see if it’s a worthy effort. Apologies if I get any of the protocols wrong. Title: The Last Supper Author: T.D. Hamm URL: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/alg/ssf046_l...

Re: A Newbie introduction

Hi Andy from another newbie Andy (AKA Ansam on the forum) I noticed your post mentions 'questionable' accents; I have just posted my first recording since joining the LibriVox forums, it was "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus. I am, through and through, a Yorkshire man (pronounced Yorksher'mun), and...

Re: Hello out there!

Many thanks for the warm welcome carolb, I have just recorded and ‘posted’ my first attempt after the one minute test; it's part of the fortnightly poetry section. I feel a little guilty, as it is a poem that speaks loudly of America's freedom and I have attempted it in an 'American' accent; I hope ...

Re: [Fortnightly Poetry] The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus -d

Hi there, this is my first attempt at a recording since completing the one minute test; I hope I have got the upload right. And, once again, apologies to my American cousins for the accent. Please listen. The track length is 1:8.52 http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/dl/newcolossus_lazarus_as.mp...

Hello out there!

Hello all,
My name is Andy Sames; It's good to join what seems to be a thriving forum; I can't wait to get started and upload my one minute test, but no doubt, I will be all fingers and thumbs and get my wires crossed and possibly even mix my metaphors; onward and upward, it's great to be here.
