Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Weaker Sex by Pinero - thw

I have some stage directions for you. You'll be pleased to hear that this time Pinero doesn't have me interrupting the speeches quite as much as he usually does. :) https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/weakersex_narrator_1_128kb.mp3 @ 14.56 https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/weakersex_narrator_2_128...

Just to let you know I'm still here! I've read another four sections, but haven't got round to editing them yet.

Re: Checker's reporting low volume [SOLVED]

I've been editing a Sherlock Holmes DR; I did notice when I was merging in the readers' recordings, that the volume of the main recording sounded a bit low. When I exported the final mp3 file, it looked fine on the Audacity sonogram, and Audacity said that it could take about 3dB amplification at t...

On the other hand Gillingham in Kent has a soft G. But I only say it in the voice credit anyway, so I could do it twice and make Todd's life more difficult 😺
Seems that as a surname it's usually said with a hard G: https://one-name.org/name_profile/gillingham/

Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Weaker Sex by Pinero - thw

It seems from this page https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Vivash that Vivash is a Wiltshire name, pronounced Vye-vash. Also Gillingham with a hard G.

Can I play Dudley? I need to channel my trivial boyish enthusiasm.
"Dudley Silchester, a fashionably-dressed, handsome-bearded man of about forty." The part's made for you.

Could I narrate please?

Re: [Play]The Betrothal by Maurice Maeterlinck-mas

Well, what a play! It was almost as though the author were hell-bent on making it as difficult and expensive as possible to stage, what with a cast of thousands, throngs of children of all ages filling the stage, hugely complicated stage sets, and constant magical transformations. Maybe he was reall...

Re: [SOLO] Miss Bracegirdle and Others-ag

Here’s the second one, Where Was Wych Street?

I hadn’t realised until I started reading it that it contains two instances of the n-word. I’ve read the text as written, of course, but have added a warning in the written summary of the book.
