Re: Librivox Shakespeare Podcast

OK. If I could suggest a recent title of which I was the BC (no time for modesty!) -- Favourite Scenes From Shakespeare https://librivox.org/favourite-scenes-from-shakespeare-by-william-shakespeare/ You could highlight any of the scenes -- but I might suggest Cleopatra's death scene or Desdemona's ...

Re: Librivox Shakespeare Podcast

Here's Esther's and my contribution: https://librivox.org/uploads/cori/shakespeare_estheradele.mp3 It's longer than the 1-2 minute mark, but since it's got stuff from both of us it should be ok, right? ;) Anyway, feel free to keep what you want and get rid of what you don't. We put a couple short c...

[SUGGESTIONS NEEDED] Shakespeare Podcast

Hi All, As some of you may be aware, I have a Librivox podcast to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare's Death due to be posted this Saturday, but I need your help! I am planning to feature recommended clips of past Librivox Shakespeare productions throughout my podcast, but I could do wit...

Re: Librivox Shakespeare Podcast

I will be showing clips of scenes/monologues suggested :)

The catalog page or even just the name of the play and which version are enough. I can find anything further than that :)

Hi All, A reminder that I'd like any contributions as soon as possible, as I'd like the podcast to be launched this Saturday :) Anyone with any recommendations of favourite scenes and monologues are very very welcome, otherwise I'll just be adding my own personal reccomendations and favourites from ...

Re: Dramatic Reading (DR) Suggestions

Brilliant idea Twinkle! Just a tip: Don't rush with the Google Docs :) We can all wait I'm sure and the more carefully created they are, the fewer mistakes and thus the fewer mistakes/hassle once the project is up and running! If you'd like anyone to do a quick check of them before you launch for pe...

Re: FLASHMOB Julius Caesar by Shakespeare-mas

Could I also steal Second Commoner? (Doesn't appear in the same scene as Soothsayer) There is nothing better than a little sarcasm and a lot of clowning around ;) (Maybe you should mention that First Commoner only has 1 line, so if anyone wants to take it it's an easy role!)

Re: FLASHMOB Julius Caesar by Shakespeare-mas

I'd suggest allowing both pronunciations. In Merchant of Venice, Portia was pronounced by different people both ways - either as the (more American, I think) Por-tia or as Por-sha. People will hardly be that confused as they'll know who we're all talking about. Plus, confusion was always Shakespeare...

Anthony Act 1 PL OK Anthony Act 2 PL OK Anthony Act 3 PL OK Anthony Act 4 PL note 0:39 - pronunciation - Octavius. I've always heard (in both Shakespeare and history) at as oct-tay-vius and you pronounce it oct-ah-vius. As BC, it's you're call :) 1:08, 1:38 - again, pronunciation of Octavius Act 5 P...
