I see you are fully subscribed now, which is great. I'm looking forward to the finished book! If anyone needs to drop a chapter I'd be happy to pick another one up. Just let me know.

... but my goodness maybe you all can tell me how you have so much time on your hands! Any advice would be wonderful! Jenilee, my commute is on a subway. It's not long, but it does allow me to read. In fact, sometimes I ride a few stops in the wrong direction to the end of the line, let the train t...

I love seeing what other people are reading. I read for work, sometimes books that are not published yet, but I think it's fair to count those, too, if I've read the whole thing. I won't count the short picture books, though. A few years ago my New Year's resolution was to read every book I own but ...

I think it's interesting that so many people record all in one take and then edit afterward. I feel I save major time in editing if I stop and back up my cursor to the end of the previous sentence or last major pause in breathing, and then start again, recording over each mistake I make. And I don't...

Thanks for sharing those links! I find in my Librivox recordings I always want to be pronouncing things as correctly as possible, and I do use the Answers.com dictionary and listen to their pronunciations when I have questions. One resource I use quite a bit for pronunciations is the NLS website htt...

Too bad for me! I am in NYC and would love to participate, but I'll actually be in Paris when the gathering takes place. Rats. I hope to be able to participate next time.

I hope the answer is yes, as I went ahead and recorded! Chapter 18 is now uploaded to David's server as littlewomen_18_alcott.mp3. I think I did it correctly (usually I use mediafire). Let me know if I need to try again.

Cheers!

Okay. Here is a second monologue from me -- "Look on thy country" from Henry VI part I (minus Burgundy's line in the middle of the speech).

May I submit "There is a willow," the Queen's speech from Hamlet Act IV scene 7? I started with "One woe doth tread upon another's heel, So fast they follow. Your sister's drown'd, Laertes." and then skip Laerte's brief line, continue with her monologue, skip Laertes' short line again, and end with ...

Sorry it took so long! Good weather makes it noisier in my neighborhood, and that makes it harder to record!
