I listen to my audio books everywhere I can!, from the beginning of the morning to the end of the night. I have one earplug in my ear while I'm getting ready for work (it's hard to shave with both earplugs in).. And when I lived by myself I used to turn the CD player up loud enough so that I could l...

COMPLETE: Bible (WEB) NT 10: Ephesians - NF/ez

This project is now complete. The file can be downloaded here: http://librivox.org/ephesians-web/ I have already recorded and proof-listened this book, and I would like someone to MC it. I tried editing out the background fuzz, but even with GoldWave and WavePad, I wasn't able to figure out how to ...

What if Librivox dies?

I shudder at the thought, but the article in Reason magazine made me pause. It said at one point that if a few of the main contributors (i.e. the Admin team) get burnt out on free audiobooks, Librivox might fall apart. So I'm wondering.. is there any plan for "apostolic succession" in case that happ...

Section 15 complete

Here is the link for section 15: http://www.mediafire.com/?3y2jewnmmwa I don't know if the sound quality is up to Librivox's standards. There's some fuzz in the background when you listen to it with headphones, but I don't know any way to get rid of it. Also, I would like any constructive criticism ...

Thank you. Your pronunciation was very helpful, and I couldn't even hear the TV in the background. And by the by, I noticed the excellent quality of your recording on the last chapter of Hume's Enquiry. Thanks again!

How would you like us to read the footnotes? Are you supposed to read all of the footnotes, even if it's just Hume citing his sources? What if Hume adds a small comment? Are you still required to read it? For instance, I've got one that says, "Hist. lib. iv. cap. 81. Suetonius gives nearly the same ...

Latin pronunciation help

I would like some help with Latin pronunciation. I'm recording David Hume's Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding. The context of the passage is this: Hume is relating the miracles said to have been performed by the Roman emperor Vespasian. He quotes the historian Tacitus who reports the stories of...

Latin phrases

My section includes a part where Hume quotes Tacitus in the original Latin: "Utrumque, qui interfuere, nunc quoque memorant, postquam nullum mendacio pretium" But I don't know how to pronounce most of these words, even though I tried to look them up online. I was successful in finding out the pronun...

Thank you for MCing my first project! Here is the link to my file: http://www.mediafire.com/?6tljmxwdynw Yes, I have already added the disclaimer to the beginning and end of the file. I already proof-listened the file, since it was so short, and there aren't any errors of that sort. But I wouldn't m...

COMPLETE: Philemon (World English Bible) by Paul - NF/ez

This project is now complete and can be downloaded on our catalogue page: http://librivox.org/book-of-philemon-web/ Hello, I am new to Librivox as a volunteer, but I've been a listener for almost a year now. This is my first recording, and I hope I don't seem arrogant for wanting to do a solo work ...
