This sounds like a great idea! I've been wondering if there were any textbooks in the public domain. The closest thing I've found on audio to a textbook-like history of the US has been Don't Know Know Much About History. But it was really short, so I'm excited to have something a little bit more tho...

Here is the link to Chapter 7: http://www.mediafire.com/?6ojtzwooztr I am a little bit concerned that I've gotten this done so quickly. I've noticed that other people have had a piece claimed since February or March. Is my recording noticeably below standard, or do I just have more free time? I'm es...

Here is my first contribution to the Short Poetry section. It's William Blake's "The Clod and the Pebble," a poem I wrote a lengthy paper about! Here is the Poets' Corner link: http://www.theotherpages.org/poems/blake04.html#clod Here is the link to the file: http://www.mediafire.com/?8qnxjgjmzny Si...

Federalist nos. 25, 78,79

I would like to record Federalist no. 25, please. Heck, I'll even do 78 and 79, if you'll let me, and get this project done.

Section 12

I've finished the recording for section 7, although I've still got some editing to do. I would be happy to take section 12 and move this project along.

http://www.linguatec.net/onlineservices/voice_reader It's amazing! You just type in any text, select the language, and it gives you the pronunciation! There's German, UK English, US English, French, Canadian French, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Czech, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Chinese. You can eve...

Wouldn't it be nice if there was just a place where you could type in any word in any language and get back a commonly accepted pronunciation? Someone oughta do that... Noisy roommates!

Has anyone found the solution to the problem of having noisy roommates to deal with while recording? In my dorm, I can hear practically everything my roommates say, and it makes it difficult for me to find time to record. It's not really their fault either; my roommate has got the TV up right now at...

Well mine's pretty easy to figure out - it's just my first and last name. But the thing is, I chose my name. I legally changed it 3 years ago from Ryan Lee Deak to Leon Korvin Mire. So I don't want a nickname - I like what I already picked!

Pronunciation Resources?

I'm wondering if there are any good general resources for pronunciation of words. Answers.com and Dictionary.com cover most English words, but it leaves out a lot of proper names, foreign words, and technical jargon. Personally, I like having an audio file of the word pronounced, that way I'm sure I...
