One more to add to the above list: Under Nietzsche, three of his works are listed as "Nietzsche, Friedrich" whereas "The Antichrist" is listed under "Nietzsche, Friedrich Wilhelm." I can't believe I missed that one - I have even downloaded it! I guess that shows you that these issues are indeed very...

One thing I'm noticing here is that some of these authors are listed are surname first, and some are given name first (and this is just among the ones Leon's pointed out; I would guess that this happens throughout the catalogue). Shouldn't there be consistency in that as well? I don't know which on...

Here is my recording of "The Hymn of Cleanthes": http://www.mediafire.com/?2uzou2lvjqz And here is the online text: http://www.bartleby.com/2/2/191.html Although the Bartleby text does not specifically say so, the text is by the Stoic philosopher Cleanthes of Assos, and not by Epictetus (it's includ...

Some more small fixable issues

See here for a few more small fixable issues. I've noticed that there are a few inconsistencies in the catalog. Most of them are insignificant, but here they are: Under the author Byron, the author of "Don Juan, Canto I" is listed as "Byron, George Gordon, 6th Baron Byron" whereas the poem "When We...

Basically what Stephan is saying is that the forum software we use (http://phpbb.com) doesn't come with a feature that allows you to view all posts in one page. There are modifications that you can add that are created by users of phpBB, that you can search for on the website. I did a cursory searc...

Anita, Thank you for the compliments on my reading. In this one, I have tried to make my pace slow enough to let the material sink in. I forced myself to read more slowly than I usually do, and I also artificially slowed the tempo with Audacity. This reading has led me to develop a new way of readin...

I was absolutely taken in by the reading of Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar by Maggie Gyllenhaal. I couldn't help smiling throughout the whole first part of it, because her voice is so creamy and deliciously ironic. But as I got further in the novel, I was constantly on the verge of tears, because this ...

I had a similar problem when I read the book of Ephesians for Librivox. The book begins with a massive sentence that I probably read 20 times, both silently to myself, and aloud, just to try to understand what it's saying: 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed u...

DonJasper, This sounds like the sort of idea that would attract a lot of followers, because there are so many people passionate about Civil War History. If you decide that you're actually going to do this, then I would suggest that you advertise, advertise, advertise. Not so much on the Librivox sit...

There is a search button at the top of the forums right under the guides for listeners and volunteers. Put your words in the search and click the little circle that says "search for all terms". You can also choose what forum you search. Hope this helps. Esther That does help. I had tried it before,...

A few minor suggestions

I've got a couple of small suggestions that I think would make Librivox more manageable. It'd be nice if, on the forums, at the bottom where it says "Go to page," there was some option to "View All" of the posts at once. I don't know if anybody else is like this, but when I jump in on a project that...

I would be glad to take the last section, 19. I hadn't realized this project was incomplete, or I would have volunteered much sooner.
