DPL: Brigands of the Moon, Food of the Gods, & Brain Twister Hey! two of those are mine. :) Brigands of the Moon was from an Ace paperback reprint. The original is from Astounding stories. I'll be doing the Astounding version as well. Brain Twister was scanned by another barfly and just PMed and cl...

I'm sure a US based MC will be along shortly who can get you set up. No hurry. I'm recording this as I read it to my kids. I still have some infrastructure things to do before I can start editing to make it into an ebook. I'll probably have it long read before I get very far into the editing. Greg ...

Since you have not recorded before, try making a test recording of the first paragraph to submit for technical evaluation. It would be disappointing to find you have technical problems (That are easily overcome) after reading half the book. It's not the first paragraph, but it's from the first chap...

few days ago. She is one of my favorite authors. It is really hard to find her books in Taiwan. I've tried very hard to collect some of her books through internet shops, but the shipping and handling fee was shockingly high. That is http://www.fictionwise.com/ has a bunch of Marion Zimmer Bradley f...

Cori, looking at the Gutenberg Page, there's a fair few Doc Smith Novels there, including Triplanetary, first of the Lensman series, and one of my personal favourites, The Galaxy Primes. Keep in mind, that the Triplanetary at Gutenberg is the Amazing Stories serial version before it was edited into...

You'd think his heirs would take whatever's offered, however little it may be. It surely isn't making them any money to leave it OOP.
Ah, but it's not his widow I have to negotiate with, it's an agent.

There are some Alan Nourse stories at PG, but not the novel Blade Runner, the book he's best known for. Any chance that one's become public domain? It's not public domain. I have a proposal in with the estate's agent to try to get it back in print, but I've not gotten an answer yet. I suspect it wo...

Yeah, it is working now. I think I'll keep reading from the scanned pages, though. Otherwise gweeks will have done all that work for nothing. Besides, it's sort of neat that it was scanned from a first edition. The very scans you are reading off of are what were fed to DP to generate the proofed te...

Huh. Didn't know there was any challenge to Project Gutenberg on Brain Twister. There's nothing I saw on Gutenberg about that. Shrug. Already been recording it for Maria Lectrix, not planning on stopping unless given some good reason. After all, how often do I get to record a 1960 Hugo nominee? I g...
