Re: help me please

Oh yes. If at all possible obtain a better microphone. there is good information on our Wiki about equipment we like and use. Personally, my volume problem on joining LibriVox was 90% due to a cheap microphone. My beautiful Yeti was a lucky choice. At the very least, get one with a USB connection. Y...

Re: Writing a Hot Key script

though it would be easy to use a HotKey to insert silence as you want, I think Hokuspokus is right and that's no good idea. Clicks and pops are better cut out; Thank you Karlsson and Hokuspokus. I did not know that about absolute silence being undesirable, but it makes sense now that I think about ...

Excellent Clarence. Persistence pays off .... Glad to be of assistance. Now we are all eager to listen to your poem so, if you haven't already, please upload it to Listeners Wanted. Since you are so computer knowledgeable you probably don't need it, but here is a link to a video on uploading a 1 min...

Writing a Hot Key script

Karlsson wrote a wonderful Hot Key program several months ago and shared it with the rest of us. It basically makes editing in Audacity much easier and quicker by doing 5 things with a key press instead of individual clicks. I love it. I highlight an error, hit the magic key and it finds zero points...

Re: Audacity Volume Settings and Display

Way to go Clarence! I am looking forward to hearing your finished poem. One comment though: The Normalize and Amplify effects are limited by the size of the loudest or highest peak in the section or track you wish to amplify. If all of a track is around 0.5 but one tiny wave goes up to 1.0 then it c...

Re: help me please

Monparnas, The technical specifications are for the Audacity program, and have nothing to do with your computer operating system. It sounds like you may be trying to change your operating system (32 or 64 bit) for you to get an error like that. As Esther said, check out the video and if you still ha...

Re: [HISTORY] How the Other Half Lives by Jacob Riis - cm

Hey Guero! I would like to take section 26:What has been done.

I'm happy that this project seems to be moving along so nicely. If Chinatown becomes orphaned in the near future, please put me down for that also.

Re: Audacity Volume Settings and Display

Well, first of all congratulations on the Blue Snowball microphone. That is an excellent start. I am going to recommend this little video I made that tries to explain this mysterious volume thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9WF82rf81o You will see from it that I don't bother with decibels; I ju...
