I feel so behind, all these multi-lingual volunteers.

Welcome to LV. Big thing to remember is that we generally sound very different recorded than in our heads. So don't worry. This is a great place to practice too.

Glad you liked the work our volunteers have done. If you're ready to lend your voice then there is plenty of interesting material to start with. Kara gave you basically everything we have to get you started, but if you have more questions, let us know

Great to have you here Michael. Glad you found something you liked here. While it is bewildering with the size of the forum, it does give us lots of choices in material.

Thanks for joining up

Great to have you aboard. I'm sure you've probably found all of our various resources. The best place to check things out is probably the wiki, but if we don't cover something there let us know. Might be worth adding it.

Stephan created a very nice style sheet for the wiki, and also wrote a little how-to on setting it. Check it out at

You can have Chapter 20. The target dates are kindof a wish. I had originally started this back in December hoping to have it done by February, so don't sweat it. No rush, we're not even fully subscribed.

Proof listening is definitely a great way to get started! Don't be afraid of recording though. It really is just a matter of practice. If you get a chance, check out the wiki (librivox.org/wiki) It has a lot of helpful hints to get you started.

Welcome aboard!

Hi Huskey. Great to have you here. We've definitely been blessed with lots of bilingual readers. It makes it a lot easier to get the variety we are seeing here.

Just holler if you still have questions.

If you guys really want to be slashdotted, it can probably be arranged. I know a few of the mods personally. But I'm not sure Slashdot is the kindof traffic we really want right now. Could kill the site.

Hi Liara.

Glad you found us and enjoyed the recordings. The best place to get the initial info you need would be http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/NewbieGuideToRecording This should give you a good idea of what you need.

If you need any other help just holler. Welcome aboard!

Great to have you here. Really the best advice we have is to find books you're interested in and enjoy the process. Relax and take your time, and get a good microphone.

Yeah but google doesn't like it when people try to manipulate their rankings. If they catch you they punish you pretty severly. BMW germany had their website removed from the rankings when it was determined that they were cheating. Really we just need a lot of bloggers to talk about and link to the ...
