Re: [MULTI-LINGUAL] Christmas Short Works Collection 2010

David You have GOT to be kidding. There is no way humanly possible to shorten that file from 11 minutes 20 seconds down to 1 minute 13 seconds! I don't know what "spec" you are referring to - - - - - but I'd rather have the entire file rejected and trashed! It's a children's bedtime story, for Pete'...

Re: [MULTI-LINGUAL] Christmas Short Works Collection 2010

Actually . . . . . I found time today to carefully read through the entirety of Christmas Outside of Eden and I'm having some second thoughts about it. It's a bit "dark" in spots. It is also likely to foster some questions from inquiring, young minds that, frankly, I'd rather not be answering - - - ...

Re: [MYSTERY] The Ashiel Mystery by Mrs. Charles Bryce-neb

OK

Then just trash the upload. There's no way to edit the SFX out and still have it make sense. I'll have to re-work it from this end.

Re: [MYSTERY] The Ashiel Mystery by Mrs. Charles Bryce-neb

Mary Bell You are most welcome. Glad I could help. Nadine I sent this as a PM to Carolin as a sort of 'heads-up.' She requested I post it in the thread for your input. If you get a chance to listen to the recording it comes up on the first page (as well as a couple other times throughout the chapter...

"SI MILORD NE REND PAS CE QU'IL NE DOIT PAS GARDER, LE COUP DE FOUDRE LUI TOMBERA SUR LA TÊTE." Can anyone put this in simple phonetics and translate it??? Would be a great help Ken I'm sure a native French speaker can do a better job - - - but this might start you off on the right path. See mi-lor...

Carolin wrote:okkk, so now that is solved, can i get some opinions on the introductory text thing? is it too short?
Doesn't seem too short to me. Actually it looks like pretty standard stuff. I just need to learn to read it more carefully  and then remember what I read.

Re: [MYSTERY] The Ashiel Mystery by Mrs. Charles Bryce-neb

And - of course now that I look at the Magic Window - I see that it is really Chapter 19 that we are talking about; not the last chapter of the book. So much for that idea............

Re: [MYSTERY] The Ashiel Mystery by Mrs. Charles Bryce-neb

My (unsolicited) 2-cents on splitting the last chapter ..........

On many levels I would respectfully suggest "No"

It'll be a 'mouthful' ('tis sure) but this is such a great novel, I think it wise to preserve the integrity of the final chapter.
